" What a nice glasses, nerd."
Me and Antoinette are walking in the hallway when Davina and Yvette blocked our way. They're making fun of my broken glasses. It broke when Alas threw them yesterday at the parking lot, I had to put a tape in the middle so I still can use it.
" Umagang-umaga pinapasuka mo na 'ko!" Yvette snorted.
" Yvette, pwede ba? Tigilan niyo na si Elle.." Antoinette scoffed and hid me behind her as she faced the Villareal cousins.
" Feeling hero ka na naman," Yvette hissed in annoyance. " Wala naman pati kaming ginagawang masama."
Davina tried to reach my face with her hand but Antoinette was quick to slap her hand, just enough to sway Davina's hand away from me. Instead of getting angry because of what Antoinette did, Yvette and Davina chuckled.
" Masyado kang tensed, Antoinette. Gusto lang naman naming batiin ng good morning si Elle." Davina chuckled, now looking at my friend.
She rolled her eyes and glanced at me for the last time before walking away from us. When they're finally out of our sight, Antoinette started lecturing me as if I'm the one who blocked someone's way in the hallway!
" Basta kapag sinasaktan ka na, patulan mo na. Self defense--" She said a lot more things but I decided not to listen anymore. Luckily, she can't distinguish when I'm actually listening or when I'm just pretending.
It's quite beneficial to know how to act in situations like this..
" Anyways, patingin ng drawing mo." Antoinette extended her right hand in front of me while I look at her with wide eyes.
" What drawing?" I was so puzzled.
" This," She gave me hers while I'm still clueless. " Nagpa-assignment si ma'am 'di ba? Drawing daw ng bagay na magrerepresent sa 'yo." My jaw literally dropped because of shock. Why didn't I know that?!
" 'Di kasi nakikinig, tsk!" She took back her drawing from my hand while I'm still frozen.
" Damn, I'm screwed.." I whispered to myself.
" Just draw an easy one, may 15 minutes ka pa naman bago mag time." Because of her suggestion, I quickly looked for my pencil and bond paper. I can't see any coloring materials in my bag so I snatched Antoinette's oil pastel.
" Yah! Sa'n ka pupunta?!" I didn't answer Antoinette and just made my way outside the room. The classroom are especially noisy so I need to go somewhere quiet to be able to think.
When I got into a quiet place, I sat down randomly on the floor and tried to think of what I can draw.
" Wow.. I'm this dumb?" I whispered in utter dismay.
It's been minutes but I still can't think of anything to draw! If there's anything that I'm bad at, it's definitely drawing. I suck at anything related to arts, meanwhile, Mom and Kuya Ryker is a great painter. Now that, people, is what you call unfair.
" I told you not to wear those glasses."
I threw my pencil in the air and held my chest in shock. People around me really likes to scare the s**t outta me.
" You always show up randomly." I ranted.
" Your drawing sucks." He pointed at my paper with random lines in it. Did he really need to do that? I already know I suck at arts!
He reached out for my pencil so I just gave it to him. I don't care if I don't have a drawing to present anymore, I give up!
I was surprised when he started scribbling and shading and all that s**t while I just look at his face.

"Stop staring." He glanced at me but immediately returned his focus on his drawing.
" You're handsome.." I whispered unconsciously while nodding, still staring at him.
" Tsk." He shook his head with a faint smile. He spent minutes drawing while me on the other hand, is busy looking around.
" There, you're done." He showed me his drawing with a proud smile.
" A blue gem?" I asked.
" Sapphire." He corrected.
He fixed the cluttered oil pastels on the floor while I was busy admiring his drawing. It was a blue gem, he drew it perfectly with shadows and shits that I don't understand about art so it was not as simple and plain.
" Sapphire best describes you," I looked at him in awe because of what he said. So he drew this for me? So I can comply to our assignment?
Yes!!!
" Because of my second name?" I chuckled.
" Not only that," He took a glance of his drawing before returning it to me. "Sapphires look so precious, so easy to break."
He took a short pause before continuing.
" Yet, it's actually one of the hardest gemstone to destroy.."
" Thank you, Alas.."
Antoinette's POV
" Sinong nag-drawing no'n? Bakit mas maganda pa yung iyo kaysa sa 'kin?!" Pagmamaktol ko. Kilala ko si Elle at kung ga'no kapangit yan mag-drawing. Tapos kanina biglang siya yung highest sa assignment dahil sa kaniya yung may pinakamagandang drawing at paliwanag?
" Nagpa-drawing ka 'no? Kanino?" Pangungulit ko. Hindi ko talaga siya titigilan hangga't hindi siya nagkwekwento.
" You should've drawn a speaker, Antoinette," Bored siyang lumingon sa 'kin bago nagpatuloy sa paglakad. " It suits you the best."
" Hey, wag mo 'kong iwa-- Oh my God, Elle!!" Out of nowhere ay bigla na lang may tumapon na liquid sa kaniya. Buong upper body niya talaga yung natapunan, ang lansa pa naman nung amoy ng itinapon!
Tiningnan ko yung nagtapon at nanggagalaiti ako sa galit nang makitang sila Davina at Yvette na naman ang may pakana.
" Eww, do you smell that?" Maarteng tanong ni Davina sa mga tao sa paligid ng hallway.
" Smells like fish sauce, couz." Yvette fanned herself with her hand while the other one's in front of her nose, blocking the bad odor.
Elle was just standing there while looking down. Hindi ko makita kung naiyak ba siya o ano. Wala siyang kibo pero malalim at mabilis ang pag hinga niya.
" Fish sauce? 'Di no, si Elle lang 'yon. Nangangamoy!" Everyone laughed with Davina's remark. The b***h look so proud that she successfully humiliated Elle.
I blew a large amount of breathe to calm myself, pero 'di ko talaga kaya. Kung kayang kumalma at pumayag ni Elle na ganituhin siya ng mga 'to, pwes ako hindi. Nahagip ng paningin ko ang isa naming classmate na umiinom ng juice kaya't dali-dali ko itong hinablot at isinaboy kay Davina.
" Davina-- OMG!!" Sasabat pa si Yvette kaya kinuha ko yung hydroflask ko at ibinuhos sa kaniya yung tubig na laman.
" ANO HINDI PA KAYO TITIGIL MGA PUNYETA KAYO?!" I shouted angrily.
" Pakielamera!" Asik sa 'kin ni Davina habang pinupunasan ang ngayo'y malagkit na niyang uniform.
" Aba't--" Handa na sana akong hampasin siya ng hydroflask ko nang may pumigil sa 'kin. " Bitawan mo 'ko, Louise! Pahampas lang ng isa!"
Gigil na gigil talaga ako. Sa tanang buhay ko, ngayon lang ako nagalit ng ganito! Ibang klaseng inis at galit yung nararamdaman ko ngayon dahil ang ayoko sa lahat ay yung inaapi ang mga kaibigan ko. Tapos gagawin pa nila sa harap ko?!
" Binugbog niyo na kahapon 'di ba?! Hindi pa ba enough 'yon para tumigil na kayo?!" I shouted again. I was so frustrated, my tears are now falling while looking at Davina who's now silent. Hindi sila maka-imik ni Yvette kasi nandito sila Louise, pero natitiyak ko na kung wala sila ni Alas, hindi titigil ang mga bruhildang 'to.
" Babe, tama na. Halika na.." Awat sa 'kin ni Louise. Sinamaan ko siya ng tingin pero di niya 'to inalintana at sinenyasan lang si Alas na alisin na doon si Elle.
" Last warning, Davina. Tigilan niyo na si Elle.." Malumanay pero garalgal kong saad bago nagpahigit kay Louise.
