" That's it for today, don't forget your assignments for tomorrow."
" Elle," Antoinette nudged me so she can get my attention. " Okay lang ba kung mauna ka nang umuwi? May date pa kasi kami ni--"
" Slowly. Speak slowly.." I cut her words. She's like imitating Eminem!
" Can you go home by yourself? I have something to do with Louise." She sighed, trying to be patient with me.
" Yeah sure," I fixed my things and stood up. " It's not like I want to be with you."
I immediately walked towards the door to excuse myself from her wrath. Between me and Antoinette, I have longer patience. Antoinette's like a volcano, one stupid word and she'll erupt and debut as a rapper. That's exactly why I love teasing her.
" That's the nerd.."
" Nakita mo na ba yung video nung nangyari kanina sa canteen?"
" First time mapahiya nila Davina ng ganon.."
" She's pretty naman pala up close, weird lang ng get up."
" Is she rich?"
" I want to be friends with her, mukhang kaclose niya sila Alas.."
Never knew that what I did at the canteen a while ago would give me instant fame. Now you know, if you want to be famous, just engage on a fight--cher! Speaking of! I actually learned a new word from my classmates. Everytime they joke, they say the word cher at the end.
I made my way through the parking lot and everyone that I walked into are talking about me, I had to put on my airpods to lessen their voices. I really can't stand these noises, it's making my head ache.
" Stop right there!" A girl shouted. The voice is quite familiar..
What's her name again? Daliya? Davona? David? Goliath?
" You freaky nerd, stop this instance!"
Oh right! Davina! Davina and Yvette!
And because I'm such a good listener, I did what they said and stopped on my tracks. Davina and her sorority girls encircled me while looking at me from head to toe. It's quite making me conscious actually..
" Need something?" I asked even though I already know what they want.
" Hindi ka nagpakita kaninang lunch," She chewed her gum while crossing her arms, still staring at me. " Scared?"
I sighed and blew air on my hair strands that are getting on my eyes. Should have combed it this morning. Tsk!
" Napipe ka bigla?" Yvette harshly pushed my right shoulder but it didn't even made me stumble. " Ang tapang-tapang mo kanina sa canteen ah?"
" Syempre nando'n sila Alas at Louise kaya malakas ang loob." One of the sorority girls answered while laughing.
" Kay bago-bago napaka-pabida na!" Another one of them said while rolling her eyes.
" Kita mo 'to?" Davina walked towards me and pointed at her bruise. " Pagsisisihan mong ginawa mo sa 'kin 'to."
Two girls grabbed my arms while another girl kicked the back of my knees. I looked around and saw people started to crowd over us. All of them are using their phones to film me, kneeling before these sorority girls.
This is why I didn't like joining sororities in the US, I prefer fraternities.
" This is for meddling with my business," She slapped me in my right cheek making the crowd gasp. " This is for putting a bruise in my face," She slap me again, but this time on the left cheek. " And this, para 'to sa pagpapahiya mo sa 'kin sa harap ni Alas!" And another twin slap.
After the last slap, the taste of blood started evading my tastebuds. Dang, this girl knows how to slap!
" Davina, the guard's coming," Yvette informed her cousin while still smirking at me. " Come on, ayokong mahuli. Dad's gonna kill me!"
" Remember this, biatch! Don't ever mess with Davina Villareal.."
Her sorority girls finally let me go and the crowd fortunately vanished from my sight. I stood up and fixed my things that are now all over the place. My cheeks hurt so bad that I unconsciously held it with my hand.
" Hahaha.." I silently laughed while rubbing my swollen cheeks. I spit some blood on the floor before going to where my car is parked.
I was busy looking for my keys inside of my bag when someone suddenly spoke behind me. " Why didn't you fight back?"
I looked behind and saw Louise's friend. " Alas."
" You know me?" His forehead creased yet amusement is visible in his eyes.
" Those sorority gals just beat the s**t outta me because of you.." I hissed before opening my car's door. I was about to close it when he leaned his arm on it.
" Why didn't you fight back?" He repeated his question while staring at me like he's hypnotized. My shoulders literally dropped because of exhaustion. If it isn't obvious, I don't like talking to him.
" I don't know how." I lied.
" Lie." Now he's leaning both of his arms in my car. The other one on the door and the other one on the wall, it's like he's trapping me inside!
" What do you want from me?" I stared back at him.
" You're interesting.." He shrugged. He then caught me off guard when he suddenly took off my glasses.
" You don't need this glasses," He looked at it before throwing it away. " Stop wearing them."
He slowly walked away while I'm still dazed about what just happened. Did he just?!
My precious glasses!!!!
Antoinette's POV
" ELLE SAPPHIRE MENDIOLA!" I shouted at the top of my lungs while slamming the gate of their huge house.
" Antoinette f*****g noisy Cruz, what are you doing infront of my house?" Inis niyang tanong. Parang pinaglihi sa sama ng loob, sobrang sungit!
" Ano 'tong nakikita ko sa forum ng school? Binugbog ka nila Davina?!" Lumapit agad ako sa kaniya at chineck ang mukha niya. Naiiyak ako sa sobrang pag-aalala! Nang mabasa ko ang naka-post sa forum ay agad ko nang niyaya si Louise na umuwi para macheck ko si Elle. Buti nalang ay magkapit-bahay kami kaya mabilis ko siyang napuntahan.
" Ano ba kasing ginawa mo? Bakit ka pinag-iinitan ng mga 'yon?" Kunot-noo kong tanong, nag-aalala dahil talagang namumula ang pisngi niya.
Elle being Elle, she just shrugged her shoulders and took a step on the side to let me in, in their house. I walked straight to their living room as if it's my own home.
" Shouldn't you tell this to Tita Amy and Tito Ezio?" I suggested.
" Nahh, they're busy." She quickly rejected.
" What about your brother?"
" He'll freaked out, so no."
Sa laki ng mansyon nila Elle, siya lang at sila Manang Lourdes ang namamalagi. Minsan lang kung umuwi dito ang parents niya at si Kuya Ryker, ang nag-iisa niyang kapatid.
" What are you gonna do now?" I bit my fingers while walking back and forth.
" Nothing." Baliwala niyang sagot. I never knew I will get annoyed of Elle's calmness one day. She's always this calm that's why it's my favorite trait of her, pero 'di ko inexpect na pati sa ganitong mga pangyayari ay makukuha niya pang kumalma. She just got humiliated in front of the whole school!
" You got a booger on your nose," Out of nowhere niyang puna. Itinuro niya ang ilong ko kaya't agad akong napatingin sa salamin upang tingnan kung meron ngang kulangot. " Cher! HAHAHAHA!"
" Anong cher?!" Binato ko siya ng unan sa inis. " Char 'yon gaga, CHAR!"
" Weh?!"
