" How's my daughter?" A man in his 50's wearing a suit asked the man in front of him.
" There's something you need to know, Senator.." Ani ng isang lalaki habang mahihimigan ng kaba ang kaniyang boses. Nailapag ng lalaking tinatawag niyang Senator ang hawak-hawak nitong kupita ng alak at tumingin sa kabadong lalaki.
" You're daughter's been bullying a girl.." The man continued.
" Por Pabor, Bragga! Is there something new with that?" The Senator hissed in annoyance. He got nervous for nothing! It's not the first time he knew his daughter's deeds, in fact, he was the one who taught her that.
He taught his daughter that in this world, with money and power, you're untouchable. You need to wield your power before other people can.
" It's not what she did, senator," The man named Bragga looked down and fumbled his fingers to calm his nerves. " It's whom she did it to.."
" Uhuh?" The Senator continued drinking his whiskey, unbothered by Bragga's report. He's one of the most powerful figures in the society, underground or not, of course he's hella confident!
" It's the daughter of Ezio Vezalius." said Bragga. The name Ezio Vezalius was like a bomb dropped in front of the Senator. He choked in his whiskey and suddenly sit up straight.
" Ezio's Unica Ija?!" Nanlalaking mata nitong tanong sa tauhan.
" I'm afraid, yes, Senator.."
" Oh fuck.." The Senator gasped. He quickly dialed his phone and massaged his temple.
" Dadd--"
" Idiota! Come here in my office, pronto!" He dropped the call and threw the phone across the room. If there's something he forgot to teach her daughter, that is there's people that are far more powerful than you.
" Should I get you another bottle of whiskey, Senator?" Bragga carefully asked, afraid that his boss will vent his anger to him. The Senator stared at him while rubbing his chin.
" Deploy your men to guard my daughter." The Senator ordered.
" Okay na po ba ang isang daan?"
" Tonto! Send all your men," Bumuntong hininga ang senador. " Ezio's not someone who can be killed by just hundreds, he'll come for my daughter. Siguradong magpapaunahan sila ng anak niyang lalaki na may sa demonyo ring taglay."
" Bakit hindi niyo nalang unahan, Senator? Hindi ba't ordinaryong tao lang naman ang asawa ni Ezio? Easy targ-- yeah right. My apologies, sir." Bragga quickly shut his mouth when the Senator glared at him.
" At naniwala ka naman na ordinaryong babae ang asawa no'n? Tsk! I once saw her kill with a f*****g spatula!"
" A spa-spatula?"
Antoinette's POV
" Babe, bakit parang absent si Alas?"
" May susunduin sa airport." He continued munching his food after answering my question. It's our lunch break, kanina sa room ay napansin kong wala si Alas kaya naisipan kong magtanong kay Louise.
" Sino? Mom niya?" Tanong ko ulit na inilingan naman niya. " Dad niya?"
" Wish ko lang! Hahahah!"
" Bakit? May feud sila?" I asked again. I glanced at Elle and she's now listening to our conversation while eating her fries.
" Alas hates his dad soooo much to the point na umuwi siya mag-isa sa Pinas. He doesn't even use his father's surname!" What Louise said caught my attention. I'm not the only one because Elle's now staring at Louise as well.
" Woah woah woah," Itinaas ni Louise ang pareho niyang kamay at pabirong hinarang sa 'min. " Hindi ko alam yung buong kwento. Basta galit siya sa tatay niya."
" So who will he fetch in the airport?" Elle asked. Nagkatinginan kami ni Louise at sabay bumaling kay Elle nang nakangiti.
" Crush mo si Alas, no?" I teased her which I now regret because she immediately pulled my hair.
" Ouch! Hahaha!"
" Uyy, napipikon! Crush nga!" Pang-aasar ni Louise.
" Bariw!" Elle exclaimed which made us laugh even more.
" Ba-liw, hindi bariw." I laughed.
" Tsk, both of you are really perfect together," She stood up from her chair. " Both of you are nonsense."
" Uy joke lang! Wait for us!" Louise and I followed her out of the canteen. The three of us are walking at the hallway when someone suddenly bumped and spilled her coffee on Elle.
" Damn it's hot!" Daing ni Elle. Agad namin siyang nilapitan ni Louise at itinayo.
" Oh my God, I'm so sor--" The girl who bumped Elle suddenly froze while staring at her.
" Why would you look at that," Yvette suddenly showed up. She's smirking while looking at Elle. " Nagkalat ka na naman, Nerd."
" Pagpasensyahan mo na siya, miss," She glanced at the girl and returned her gaze to Elle. " Panget na nga, lampa pa."
" Aurelle.." My brows furrowed when the girl ]whispered that while staring at Elle. Kumunot ang noo ni Elle habang nakatingin sa kaniya. Other students are starting to encircle us, mga chismosa't chismoso!
" Do you know her, Elle?" Agad naman siyang umiling sa tanong ko.
" Oh my God!"
" Hala!"
" Ooof! Ang lapnit no'n!"
Everyone gasped when the girl suddenly slapped Elle. Agad na humarang sa tapat namin si Louise at itinago kami ni Elle sa likod niya.
" Ano bang problema mo, miss?" He asked the lady with a hint of anger.
" That's for my coffee she spilled." The lady rolled her eyes and glared at Elle.
" Are you kidding me?!" I hissed. She glanced at me and arched her eyebrows.
" Aria Georgina!" Someone shouted from the crowd.
" Alas?" Naguguluhan kong tanong. Paano niya nakilala 'tong babaeng 'to?
Tiningnan ko mula ulo hanggang paa yung babae at 'di ko maiwasang maguluhan kung Amerkana ba siya o Europian. Maganda siya oo, pero ang panget ng ugali!
" What are you doing, Aria Georgina?" Galit na tanong ni Alas sa babae habang hawak-hawak ang kamay nito. Tumingin siya sa 'min at sunod ay kay Elle na nakatungo. He sighed and blew a large amount of breath.
" Sorry for my sister.." Everyone gasped, again, because of what he said.
So this b***h is his sister? Bakit ang sama ng ugali? Ang sarap sapatusin!
" Kakaiba 'yang kapatid mo, bro. Nananampal nalang bigla-bigla." Louise chuckled, long gone his angry expression. Kurutin ko nga sa tagiliran. Hindi porket kapatid ni Alas 'yan ay ceasefire na 'no!
" Sorry, I'll talk to her." He looked at Elle again before dragging his sister out of our sight.
" Oh tapos na ang palabas, baka pwede na kayong magsilayas ano po?" I sarcastically said while glancing at our chismosang schoolmates. Mga echusera!
" Halika na, Elle. 'Wag mo isipin yung baliw na yun." Like what Alas did to his sister, I dragged Elle out of the circle and went straight to restroom to help fix her now ruined uniformed.
" Napakadami talagang nambubully sa 'yo! Ang sarap pagtitirisin!" Asik ko habang tinutulungan siyang punasan ang uniform niya. Pasimple ko siyang tiningnan at napailing nalang ako nang makita na tulala na naman siya.
