JASMINE Taking advantage of my willingness to run errands, my mom sent me to the grocery store with a list on a Saturday morning at the end of October, before work. I was placing zucchinis into a plastic bag when Lucy’s mom pulled up next to me with her grocery cart. “Ah, Jasmine! I’m so glad to see you!” I was pleasantly surprised to hear that she was glad.
