Lily came up to me and grabbed me by the arm, yanking me up from my sitting position beside Aaliyah. Surprised, I looked at her.
"Babe? What's-" Before I could ask, she pushed me out of her way before tackling Aaliyah to the ground. Her ice cream flailing out of her hands and landing with a soft plop onto the sand. Aaliyah screamed.
"What the fvck? Lily get the fvck off me!" She yelled, but Lily had her wrists in her grip while she smashed Aaliyah's face into the sand. Aaliyah couldn't do anything. Myra and Mikael turned their attention to us when they heard the commotion. Myra immediately rushed out of the water. Her expression was dark. She looked scary. Once she got here, I stood up. Myra pulled Lily off Aaliyah, Mikael checked on Aaliyah while Myra kept her grip on Lily's hair. Myra then turned to me, furious.
"What? You're just going to stand there while your girlfriend fvcking beats your friend to the ground? What kind of person are you!?" she yelled, making me flinch. Her words fill me with guilt. I should've done something. I should've pulled Lily off of Aaliyah. I should've — I turned to Aaliyah. Mikael was beside her, patting her back as Aaliyah caught her breath, wiping the sand off her face. I clenched my jaw.
I went and also checked up on Aaliyah. I sat beside her as Lily and Myra argued.
"Hey, you okay?" I asked her.
"Dude, could you go get some water? I'll pay you back," Mikael said instead, and I nodded, stood up and headed to buy water.

Aaliyah's POV
It felt like the sand was in my lungs. It hurt to breathe. I stared at Lily before lunging at her. Mikael tried to stop me, but the need to get payback was too much. I grabbed both her arms and pinned her to the ground, tackling her. She screamed. It made me want to do it more, hurt her more because of the times she hurt me. All these years she tortured me. All these years of getting verbally abused...
"Doesn't feel nice to be pinned down to a surface, does it, Haffman? Just like the way you did to me," I growled. The words were rasped in pure anger and hatred. I thought she wouldn't affect me anymore. Guess I was wrong. She still did affect me. I let go of her arms, going for her throat, but before I could, I felt two arms pull me off Lily. Myra.
"Myra, get off me. Let me at her. Let me-" I didn't even recognize my own voice. I didn't sound like myself. I sounded like someone had removed my own voice and replaced it with something villainous,
"Aaliyah, she's not worth it. We know she's not," Myra said calmly.
I heard footsteps, and before I knew it my face was splashed with something cold. Water. I jerked back and wiped my face, calming down a bit.
"What the fvck?!" I yelled, looking up to see Noah had splashed my face with water.
"What was that for?" I asked. He smiled. That infuriatingly attractive smile.
"Just removing the devil from your body," he said.
"Devil?" I repeated, confused.
"Yeah. You looked like the devil possessed you or something...scary," he said while making a mock shiver, which made me laugh.
I saw him smile once I laughed.
"There we go, the smile's back," he uttered, which made me smile wider before I looked at Lily who was still being held down by Myra.
"Maybe have a talk with your girlfriend," I said, my voice filled with disdain and hatred.
Lily looked at me with the same expression, the hatred between us increasing within minutes. She looked like she was about to lunge at me again before Noah pulled her away from the group. I could hear Lily yelling at Noah about something related to... me staying away from him? I can't even care right now.

Noah's POV
"Lily, are you crazy? Why would you do that?!" I asked Lily as I pulled her away from the rest of the group.
"Me? Crazy? You were literally cheating on me with her! I saw it! You bought her ice cream. You're supposed to love me only. You're mine, remember?" she admitted. She sounded absolutely hysterical.
"I wasn't cheating on you, I just bought her ice cream because she was upset. And you're the only one I love, baby. You know that. You didn't have to do all this," I said gently, trying to coax her into calming down.
"I'm your only love. You'll only love me. So stay away from her!" Lily screamed.
I had enough of her shenanigans and snapped.
"Lily, Aaliyah and I are only friends. I would never cheat on you, Lily. I'm not like that. You're acting super childish right now, and it's getting on my nerves. So either stop this bullshit or we're done," I finally said. I had been thinking about breaking up with her for a while now. Lily's just been super possessive and controlling over everything I do, and I was getting tired of it.
Lily's eyes widened, and she gripped my arms hard, her nails digging into my skin. She looked crazy.
"Break up? You're not breaking up with me. You can't. You can't live without me. You're mine!" she exclaimed.
I pushed her off of me. She'd told me about how she felt about me hanging out with Aaliyah, but this was extreme. All I did was buy Aaliyah an ice cream cone. But tackling Aaliyah to the ground because of it was extreme…wasn't it?
"Lily-" I started.
"NO! NO, NO, NO!" she fully screamed. "You're mine, Noah. Mine. No one can have you. You're mine only!"
I watched as she spiraled. I couldn't help her. I didn't know how to. I turned to look at the others. Myra and Aaliyah were nowhere in sight, but Mikael had stayed by and all he could do was shake his head as he locked his eyes with mine. I looked back at Lily, I genuinely felt bad for her. I loved her, I really do, but I couldn't deal with her overly possessive and controlling behavior.
"Lily, look at me, baby, please," I pleaded. She did eventually look at me. She still looked crazy, her eyes glossed over and wide. I placed my hands on her waist. She still didn't calm down.
"Talk to me, what's going on?" I asked her softly as one of my hands cupped her cheek.
"I...I'm sorry," She said. I looked at her confused.
"Sorry? Lily, for what?"
"For whatever comes next."
And then came the stab.
