An Accident?

Lily's POV That b***h. I'm going to make her pay. Aaliyah. I punched at the cell wall, my knuckles were going to start bleeding if I kept at this. I imagined her face as I punched the wall. Noah was supposed to be mine. I was going to make him mine. Dig a carving so deep into his neck that it would never fade. But that b***h just had to meddle. "Lunch," I heard a guard announce. Turning toward the hatch, I saw a plastic plate of mashed potatoes that looked poisoned and a raw-looking fish fillet. I grabbed the plate and smashed it against the wall, breaking the plate while sending the food flying through the cell as I imagined Noah and her together. I was going to make her pay. Starting with a little something I found out. I smirked. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Noah's POV Another day, another day at the Academy. I had just finished my morning shower and was putting my uniform on when my phone buzzed. I looked at the notification bar and saw Aaliyah's name had popped up. I immediately picked my phone up, a smile on my face as I read her message. --I won't be there during chemistry. Send me notes please? I frowned at the message. I was looking forward to having chemistry with her, only because Myra hadn't come back from her family vacation yet. Duh. So, I replied. --Sure, I'll send the notes. Why aren't u coming? I got no reply after I sent the message. I shrugged and continued getting ready. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Aaliyah's POV I was going to throw up. I had just received a call from Myra and I received the worst news ever. Myra's parents had found out about my secret. The Secret. The secret only me and Myra knew about. Myra never told anyone, not even her parents. So how did they find out about it? I was going to cry. "You're sure you didn't tell them?" I asked Myra in pure shock and horror. "Aaliyah, I would never. You're my best friend, I would never do that. My mom just came up to me today and showed me a picture. Some anonymous number told her about it," Myra said, making my anxiety spike even more. This was the sole reason I wasn't able to get up to go to my first class. I was going to bawl my eyes out, and I wasn't even kidding. "Just tell them it's not true or something, Myra, please," I pleaded. I heard Myra sigh before she replied. "Ally, I tried to, but they didn't believe me. I don't know why they don't. They're telling me they're gonna to talk to your parents about it," My heart dropped. My parents? My parents couldn't know. They can't know. Tears sprang to my eyes. "Myra," I choked out. "My parents can't know. You know they can't. You know what they'll do if they find out," I whispered through the phone. "Aaliyah..." "Myra, please!" I practically whisper-screamed at her through the phone. "I don't know what to do, Aaliyah!" I heard Myra yell back at me. This was bad. This was horrible. "No one knows about this except us! Who..." I trailed off. Wait. Doesn't Lily also know about it? But she's in jail. She doesn't have the resources to spill my secret. Right? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- By the time I arrived at campus, I had already skipped two of my lessons of the day. It was only supposed to be chemistry, but a girl needed to break down before getting to school, right? I walked up the steps with a lazy and tired stride. Not only was I on edge, I had to go and do advanced algebra. Can't they give us a break? Stupid summer break was two months away. I want this year to be over already! I thought to myself as I made my way into the math classroom which resided on the second floor of the academy. I walked in and sat at my usual spot, which was at the back by the window on the right side of the classroom. I practically dragged myself to the chair and sat down, immediately resting my head on my arms which I put on the desk. I closed my eyes. A few minutes of sleeping wouldn't hurt... "Aali!" You're here!" I heard a male voice say. I groaned and sat up properly to see Noah run up to sit on the desk beside me. Wait..Aali? When did he start calling me that? "I am here. In full Aaliyah glory," I said in a deadpanned tone as I looked at him. "I was soo lonely today. I didn't have either of my friends in class with me. Which meant I had to do actual work," complained Noah. I could only roll my eyes. If only Noah knew the struggles I was going through... "Why didn't you come anyway? You never responded when i asked you through the text," he asked. My posture stiffened as i fumbled to come up with a believable lie on the spot. "Oh... I was...my parents told me to do something before coming to school!" I fumbled. "I thought your parents' main focus was school?" he asked. He was skeptical. I could feel it in my bones. Fvck. "Aha, yeah... but you know how it is..." I tried to shrug it off, but apparently Mister Glasses over here wouldn't budge. "What would they make you do that would take up like...two lessons, anyway? I thought you were only skipping chemistry," he practically questioned me. I knew I shouldn't have come today at all. "Aha...well..." I trailed off with no plausible lie. Just when Noah opened his mouth, the teacher, Mrs. Wilkins, walked in. I sighed a breath of relief. This is the only time I'll say this. Thank God for math ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I was going to murder Noah. He just spilled his chocolate milk all over my blazer AND shoes, which also meant my socks were soaked in chocolate milk. He just had to ruin my day even more. I took a deep breath before raising my eyes to look at him. He was looking at me as if he hadn't done anything wrong. "Noah." I said, my voice eerily calm as I stared daggers at him. What did I get? A smile. A. fvcking. Smile. "Yes?" He responded in an innocent tone. As if he hadn't just ruined my whole uniform. "You look a little soaked there..." He said. "A little?" I said, bewildered by his reaction. "Noah, you just spilled your whole drink over my whole uniform!" "Yeah, and?" he said. "It's just chocolate milk, you can go buy another uniform for only 100 euros. What's the big deal?" I gaped at him. Did he seriously think 100 euros was cheap? He saw my expression and huffed. "Oh, come on Aaliyah, I'll pay for it if it bothers you that badly," "That's not the point! You haven't even apologized for practically ruining my whole uniform, and you're acting like it's nothing when clearly it isn't just nothing," I pointed out and he just rolled his eyes. "You seriously need an apology for that?" His words surprised me. It wasn't about the chocolate milk anymore. "It's basic manners," I said. "Yeah, but do you seriously..." He trailed off as he looked at my dark expression. "Fine! Fine! I'm sorry I spilled my drink on your uniform!" "Were you never taught basic mannerisms or what?" I asked. Even if I came from a less than average family, manners were the number one thing that my parents taught me to take seriously. Was that not the same for everyone else? "I was. I just wanted to see how you'd react..." Noah admitted. "Mhm..." I hummed skeptically. Before he said anything else, I got a call from Myra. I excused myself from our conversation and answered her call. My gut was telling me something was definitely wrong. Myra never calls me during school hours, whether she be in school or not. Her return flight was supposed to be today, but it got delayed to tomorrow. "Hey, girl. What's up?" I asked as I answered the phone. "It's spreading. One of my cousin's found it too," Myra said, cutting straight to the point. Spreading? What was sprea- Realization dawned on me. Fuck.
