How did I end up here, doing this? What kind of self-respecting person would ever consider working in the s*x industry? Was I a total floozy growing up? When most people think of an escort, the majority summon up a woman with large breasts (usually fake), hair extensions or wigs, trashy outfits, no self esteem, someone with drug or alcohol issues, a dysfunctional upbringing, an absent father or mother.
I am/was/dealt with none of those things.
I grew up with a strict Christian upbringing in a large family. My parents had been together for most of their adult lives and had a loving relationship. My father had tremendous success in a prestigious field and my mother was a published author, had a high educational degree, and worked a job she loved. Our mornings were full of food, talk, and laughter. Our evenings held more of the same.
I was in Advanced classes from elementary school onwards. I especially loved math! I had never touched a cigarette, weed (or anything more severe) and didn't drink until I turned 21. I never partied, I was absolutely not popular with the boys (I was too involved in my school work and didn't meet the metrics of beauty held in the city I grew up in). My first kiss didn't happen until I was 18 and it was AWFUL (sorry, Brandon....I will never forget).
Physically, I like how I look but I am by no means a God-standard. I am of average height with brown curly hair (that I have dyed neon red, blue, green, red and black and hennaed) that reaches to my shoulders when straightened. I have green eyes, full lips, and small breasts. I often sport chipped nail polish and mismatched clothing. Weight-wise, when I started, I was severely underweight. Now, as a woman in my early 40's with several children underneath my belt, I would say I am slightly above average weight. I get compliments when I go out, but am by no means a jaw dropper.
I had decided to answer an ad for adult work after having only been with one person. He was my husband at the time. We were so incredibly mismatched. He was 9 years older than me, had been married previously and was convinced he was going to make it big as a musician. He was an Anarchist which is why, he claimed, he couldn't hold down a job....he didn't want to work for "the man". I was miserable. I was working a job to support us while he was out doing band practice and playing in people's back yards. No matter how much I made, we were struggling. I found it grossly ironic that while he refused to make money, he certainly had no problem spending it.
