Arriving, I see all of the town residents standing along the tree lines. Waiting for “the show” that they are requiring me to put on to prove my abilities are legit. “Yasiel, you are being tested today to see if your powers are as you say. If your claims are proven to be false, you will be executed for trespassing. If they are found to be true, you will be welcomed into our pack with open arms, never to wonder these lands alone again.”Jacob , the male from last night stated then continued “ We may be a group of rogues but that does not mean we do not have order and rules here.
You will have four tests to prove yourself. The first test is you must control fire. You must light the pile of wood on fire.
Second, You must control said fire and ensure it does not expand using air. Third you will be required to control water, with this test you will be required to lift up the water out of a bucket and put out the fire. Last you will be tested on your control of earth, earth powers control life on earth itself, with that being said you must command something living in the earths surface to do as you will it. If you fail either of these four tests, you will fail them all. Do you understand the terms of this trial and wish to continue, or do you decline them and wish to be sentenced to death?” He says waiting for my decision.
“I know my claims are not false; your tests will only prove my words to be true. I accept your trials under one condition.” The words left
my mouth in a tone I had never known I could use. “And what is this 'condition' you speak of" the man replied. “If I pass all four of your trials.” I said, taking a deep breath and looking straight in his eyes, “Then I request not only the respect of all rogues in this pack, but also to be crowned as your True Alpha.” “Ha,” the man boasted, “You are a measly pup, The Moon Goddess would not allow one to contain such power, but if you manage to pass all four trials without dying then I agree to your terms. For It would be the will of our beloved Moon Goddess” he continued, “Let the trials begin and good luck my young pup.” He yelled. The crowd made cheering sounds from all directions.
Trial of fire; before me is a pile of wood in which I not only have to set on fire, but I have to control the fire to keep it from spreading to the surrounding piles. “You may begin, young wolf,” I hear a woman state. Staring at it focusing. a flame begin to rise higher and higher but never wider, “you must keep the flames contained to only this pile for one minute” I hear the man state “start the timer” he yells as I continue to contain the fire with air. A few moments later I start to feel my body get tired from the constant power usage .When finally I hear “time is up, you may extinguish the fire” the woman says. “Finally,” I say to myself as I collapse to my knees, sweat dripping from my face. “Hopefully, they give me a few minutes before moving to the next trial.” I think to myself before hearing the man say, “It seems you have unknowingly extinguished the flames with air instead of water, young wolf. Congratulations, you have passed the first two test. We shall give you a few moment to recharge your energy before moving on to trial three, which will be the water trial.” “Thank god,” I mutter to myself before two wolves approach me
with water and food. Taking the items from their hands, I thank them. After a few moments the man speaks again “we shall
continue with the trials” he says just as a group of wolves arrive carrying multiple buckets of water “this trial; you must lift the water from the buckets and relinquish the fire. As I look up a fire
explodes from the wood and I have to act in haste. Lifting the water from the buckets, with my mind , I throw the water on the flames. The fire has become too large and the wolves around me seem to be panicking in fear as the fire spreads. Knowing I have to act quickly I use the earth to create a barrier in between the fire and the surrounding pack. Frantically I search for water else where suddenly an idea enters my mind “water is part of
the earths surface, I’ll use that to relinquish the fire before it spreads any further. Slowing my thoughts and concentrating, I put my hands out upside down, palms facing the air, close my eyes, and take a deep breath. Suddenly, water starts flowing from the ground and trees, creating a large ball of water. Opening my eyes, I command it to relinquish the fire, and off it goes. Splashing every where soaking everything around it, the fire disappears, and the wolves start to cheer, “he saved us!” “He did it!” “That’s amazing.” “Young wolf, you have completed the trial. You have used both water and earth to complete this trial .You have in turn completed the fourth trial as well, congratulations the Moon Goddess has blessed you above all others ” he says as he begins to crouch on one knee and bow. The others in the pack followed him, “as promised, you have proven your words to be true and with that I keep my promise, I Sebastian Moon-claw welcome you as our first ever True Alpha”. After he spoke those words, a searing pain started in my shoulder; it felt as if someone was poking me with hot metal. Lifting my sleeve, I see the shape of a moon appear in the center of my shoulder, followed by four more smaller moons surrounding it. Once they have completed their shape, the pain ends, and I am marked forever a True Alpha. Yasiel was now leader of the forsaken wolves.
After Yasiel became their True Alpha, he made some changes. He decided that each element would be controlled by a different
moon phase; he separated every wolf into separate groups, thus creating the five packs. Fire is bound by the blood moon, water by
the pink moon, earth by the black moon, and air by the cold moon, but there is a fifth moon called the blue moon. This activates the mate of a very special breed of wolf, one like himself, a wolf that can control all four elements. This specific pack of wolves was lead by
Yasiel’s.
The five packs were thriving for many years. One day many years later Yasiel died of a old age. Leaving the alpha name to his heir Lucian, and by his side his Luna Esmerelda. Years later an illness broke out through the packs, and one by one, the all 5 pack slowly died off, including Esmerelda, who passed away, leaving only Lucian and their son the only survivors. Shortly afterward Lucian fell gravely ill. He traveled far form his home to find a
safe place for his son. He came across a small town in which he left him on the doorstep of a stranger's home with only a small note
attached to his blanket with the name Vilkas, leaving the Fifth pack to be thought extinct.
Henrick finished his story and then stood up, “Well, little pups, this old wolf needs some sleep. I'll tell you all more stories another
day,” and then walked inside to retire for the night. I looked at my phone, eleven o’clock at night. I was so invested in
Henrick's story, I never realized that it had become so late already. “I should probably be getting home myself, my family is probably worried about me, and honestly, I'm pretty beat myself, “ I stated, looking at the wolf who brought me here. “I never got your name, though, sir,” I said, remembering that his is the only name I didn’t get, which is silly since I let him bring me here to begin with, I thought to myself. “My name is Skoll, but my friends call me Skully,” he said with a smile. “Did you find what you were looking for, son?” He asked me before I mounted my bike.
“I’m honestly not sure, but then again, I'm not Sure what exactly I was looking for to begin with,” I said, then put my helmet on and
headed out.
