The Lost Pup

The entire drive home, I could not get Henrick’s story out of my mind. Vilkas, where had I seen that name before? I thought to myself, pulling into the driveway of my family's home, dismounting my bike to and then heading inside, hoping that everyone was asleep and Serena was gone. Entering the home, it was dark; the only light to be seen was the light from the clock on the stove and a single candle flickering in the hallway. I begin quietly walking upstairs to my room, attempting not to wake anyone, when I hear movement in my room. Slowly approaching my door, I open it only to find Serena sitting on my bed. “What the f**k are you doing, Serena? Why the hell are you in my bed? More importantly, why, and I can’t stress this enough, the f**k are you still here?” “Chill out, Fenris, it was late after me and your mom finished catching up, so they offered me the spare bedroom. I couldn’t sleep, so I came in here to see if you were awake, only to find your bed empty. So, where have you been? Late night with your newfound mate?” She says snickering “Not that it's any of your business, but I don't have a mate yet, and I was out late because I was hanging out with some friends from the bar.” I started with spitting anger in my tone. “Bar huh? Since when do you go to bars?” She interrupted “I have no desire nor reason to answer that, Serena, now get the f**k out of my room.” “Okay, okay, I get it, you're still very angry at me for leaving without saying goodbye. I just wish you would let me explain.” “Angry? ANGRY! I am not angry, Serena. What I am is very much still hurt. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve had a long day and want to go to bed… goodnight.” I say, escorting her from my room, and shutting the door, locking it behind me. Listening to her as her foot steps grow quieter the further from my room she gets, I sink to the floor, vision blurring from the tears forming in my eyes, not understanding why, after all this time, her face, her bright blue eyes, the soft tone in her voice, they all bring me so much f*****g pain. With all the energy I have left in my body, I get up and crawl into my bed, staring at the ceiling, letting my thoughts run wild until I drift to sleep. Fenris shivered from the cold, not under a wolf's fur but a small, thin blanket wrapped around his tiny body. It was dark, the only light in the sky from the moonlight peaking through the clouds. Looking up, Fenris catches a glimpse of a tall figure holding him tightly to his chest under a dark colored cloak in an attempt to keep the crisp air from entering. Small flashes of passing objects. Suddenly, the air grows colder, no longer feeling the warmth from the man's body but instead the trembling shake of his hands. Catching a glimpse of the man, there are tears in his eyes and a look of sorrow flowing over his face. He begins to lower him to the porch of an unfamiliar place, once the feeling of the man's touch dissapears from his tiny body . “One day, dear boy, when it is safe, we will reunite once more.” He says, putting a small silver necklace on his chest and walking away, distance filling the air around him. The feeling of abandonment and fear filled his tiny chest. Fenris begins crying, his screams echoing through the cold, empty air. The tiny bursts of warmth flowing through the small c***k at the Bottom of the door, hoping that someone will hear his screams of fear soon and come to his rescue. Slowly drifting in and out of consciousness, he hears heavy foot steps in the distance, the door opening, the face of a woman entering his view, she grabs him and lifts him from the cold, hard porch, bringing him close to her chest, finally feeling warmth once more, no longer feeling alone and scared. Everything around him goes dark as exhaustion from screaming, and the cold takes over his little body, and he drifts out of consciousness.
