He heard voices and the sound of laughter as he stepped out of the elevator and into the foyer, it sounded like Laura.

He placed his keys in the tray with a loud bang, announcing his presence.Scarlett came running round the corner, looking more frazzled than usual.
“Hello sweetheart.” He said out loud, enveloping her in his arms.
After a moment, she struggled free, he raised an eyebrow in enquiry.

“Okay?” He asked, still not understanding why she was pale as a ghost.
“She’s spending the night here.”

“She said they had a bug infestation at their place, and the exterminators came and solved the problem already, but Ben is out of town and she was scared of staying all alone in their house.”
