A few days had passed since the seizures and the whole hospital ordeal happened. And it had left an uneasy tension lingering between them. Tension so thick you could cut it with a knife. He had witnessed her vulnerability, and had seen the mask of strength he had known her to wear for the past few months slip away. And he hated how that had left him in a pit of uncertainty about his feelings concerning her. In the confined space of their home, he found himself unable to escape the haunting memories of that day. Everytime he closed his eyes, he saw her tiny form convulsing on the floor, he saw his ex-girlfriend watching and doing nothing.
