“Damien honey, you finally came.” He froze. His breathing completely stopped, and he was pretty sure the consistent thudding sounds he could hear was his heart threatening to burst out of his chest. His hands shook and the silence extended for what felt like years as they stared back and forth at each other. The smile remained plastered on her face, and her wide excited eyes looked almost rabid, in a way that scared him. After what felt like ages, he shook his head and broke out of the spell.
