She hung her head in shame and avoided everyone’s eyes. She could feel tears stinging at the back of her eyes, and she was doing everything she could to stop them from spilling. She needed to be strong if she was going to get through this. There was that nagging voice at the back of her head telling her to stop, and she almost did. Watching their reactions to the knowledge that she had basically signed her life to Wade broke her, and she hadn’t even gotten to the worst parts yet. She contemplated calling it a wrap right there and then, but she knew she would just go back to living a deceitful life if she didn’t completely come clean to them now that they were already there.
