It was six in the evening, Amy had left a half hour ago. The day had been pretty uneventful, they had cleaned up the kitchen area and brought in all the cookware and stuff, they assembled the new coffee machine behind the counter and Amy had tackled assembling the chairs and putting them in their positions.
Wade had actually been a big help, she initially thought it was all bluff and he didn’t actually intend to help but he had surprised her, after he took off his jacket and rolled up his sleeves —which made her feel things she didn’t want to think about— he had instantly gotten to work, he focused on all the heavy stuff, like bringing in the giant stack of books that had gotten delivered, he placed them neatly on the floor and she smiled softly as she watched him work.
