Chapter 3

230 Words
Chloe gleefully claimed the werewolf slave she believed would serve her with absolute loyalty. I, on the other hand, remained calm as I used Witch's Power to support the vampire, who looked fragile and almost fading under the overcast sky. For seven days straight, we tended to our respective slaves. Chloe copied my actions from the previous life, devoting herself to the werewolf day and night in an effort to tame him. She poured out her savings on endless supplies of meat to satisfy his ravenous appetite and wore herself down hunting for herbs to treat his lingering injuries. Whenever the werewolf slept, she would sneak off to Benjamin's isolated tower to meet him in secret, indulging in reckless passion. Yet her finances dwindled, her energy faded, and still the werewolf never granted her the Crescent Mark of loyalty. By day, I offered the vampire small vials of blood strong enough to refine his lineage. As someone with rare blood of extreme scarcity, I quickly became his obsession, and the way he looked at me grew increasingly intense and unreadable. By night, I immersed myself in the Witch's Grimoire to deepen my Witch's Power, mastering spells while sharpening my combat skills, from firearms to crossbows. The townspeople claimed even the strongest hunter beyond the town wouldn't stand a chance against me. Yet I knew that was still far from enough.
