" Nine years ! That's a surprising number and it tells the person in front of me is something else ", said the doctor. He went a bit closer to her.
" Careful doctor, she was extremely aggressive and even bit one of the maid's hand while trying to change her wet bed sheet ", said the maid.
" Janagi ! ", whispered the doctor with the softest tone.
She didn't even move a muscle.
" Janagi ! Do you hear me ?", the doctor called again.
" Hey ! The doctor is calling you ", the maid pushed her head with a large wooden stick and yelled at her.
The next thing they heard was a aggressive breathing sound, a very deep one. Anyone would have thought that sound as an animals roar. The aggression in her breath elevated for every push.
" Stop that, yelling at an aggressive person will only aggravate them. David, please ask them to get out. I need to talk to her in private ", said the doctor.
David signaled the maids to leave and so did the maids. David and James moved to a corner of the room and observed them.
" Janagi !", the doctor used his soft tone and touched her shoulder. She flinched backwards like a scared cat. He continued, " Don't be scared Janagi, no one's going to do anything to you. Relax ", he touched her and she flinched back again.
" Okay, take your time. Talk when you wanna. But don't make me stand for a long time Janagi because I'm a diabetics patient ", chuckled the doctor. Janagi slightly lifted her head for a second and went back again.
The doctor stood for more than ten minutes and she finally whispered, " Re.......".
" What ? I can't hear you. What's "re" ? say it a bit louder ".
She hesitantly said, " Release me ".
" Release you ? ".
" Yes, release my hands ".
" But..."
" Release me ".
The doctor turned towards David who was standing in a corridor.
" We never took those things off and we don't know how she would behave without a change. So it's not a good idea doctor", said David as he lighted James cigarette.
The doctor turned to Janagi and tried to convince her," Well, I guess it won't happen now. But I promise I'll-"
" Release me ", those are the only words she kept repeating. The doctor scrutinised her for a minute asked David to unlock her hands.
" What ? ", asked David.
" Yeah, I got this. Unlock her handcuffs ".
" You sure doctor ?", asked James.
" Things never goes out of control in my presence ", the doctor took a sedative syringe, removed it's cap and hid it behind.
" Okay, Janagi. Now I'm going remove your handcuff and you are going to answer all the questions calmly. You understand ".
Janagi: (*No response*)
The doctor signaled David. He approached her and stopped.
" What's wrong ? Unlock her cuffs ", said the doctor.
David hesitantly took a step closer and unlocked her cuffs. As soon as she heard the "Klick" sound she lifted her head, removed those cuffs as if a Caterpillar is crawling over her hands and she threw it above the doctor's head. The iron handcuff smashed onto the wash basin and mirror above it and shattered it into pieces. Water began to leak out of the broken pipe.
David panicked and backed while James sauntered towards her to pin her down.
" Stay where you are James. I got this ", said the doctor.
She was breathing intensely, not to mention a huge relief filled her face. " T-Take that away ", she screamed out of her lungs.
" Yeah, I'll take that. Now calm down...calm down...", said the doctor and he signaled David to clear the cuffs and the broken mess. The plumbers and the maids rushed in and cleared the masses in a swipe of a David's phone call.
She barely blinked till the cuffs moved out of her sight. Finally her eyeballs moved to the doctor's face. " Who ? "
