3.Boy Interrupted

ALEXANDER's POV

I stared at the clock on the wall mindlessly as I was washing glasses for the bar, it was already 6:48 on the neon clock on the wall and Max is still no where to be seen. Alice, my friend and co-worker, told me she would call me immediately if he shows up. Tonight I have my first show, I will be singing a self written song, specifically written for Max. I hear the door of the kitchen open behind me and I immediately spun around to see Alice, hopeful to hear if Max is here or not.

She looked at me pitiful, "They want you backstage because you're up in 15 minutes or less... He will be here, Lex, you know how traffic is in New York."

I sighed and dried my hands, "Thanks Alice, you truly are the best friend a guy could ask for."

She punched me on my shoulder and began to laugh at me, "Don't you dare give me flash backs to you friend-zoning me last year!" I joined her in her laughter and she managed to get my mind off of Max for a bit.

Today is the anniversary of my fall to Earth, the song is written for Max who basically saved me when he found me in the middle of the Mojave Desert. I fell and lost my wings because I was cast from Heaven to Earth, with two gigantic open wounds on my back and my angelic grace at the lowest it had ever been.

I almost died a mortal death.

It was Max who felt the breach between realms the day I fell, he spent weeks searching for me. I was found half buried beneath the sand, covered in blisters due to the long exposure in the sun.

"I found you little flower."

Those were the first words I ever heard in the mortal realm and also the words of my messiah.

He saved me.

"Up next we have our very own Alexander, he will be singing a self written song for you all, give it up for your favourite bartender!!!" My boss Gregory announced me, everyone started cheering as I walked up the stage towards the mic with my guitar.

I took the mic and looked around the room at everyone, searching, scanning... Then the smile on my face grew as Max just came in through the main door, his eyes widening when he sees me on stage. I didn't tell him before hand what I was planning for tonight, because I wanted to surprise him, I was still going to kill him for being late and also giving me bad anxiety!

"This song is for the person who saved me, and also for every person here tonight who feel they are lost, from me to you...you will be found!" I said as I placed the mic on the stand and adjusted my guitar.

As I sang my eyes kept finding themselves in the twirling green orbs of Max's eyes. He looked like he was on the verge of tears, with the sweetest smile on his face, when suddenly he turned his head to the door. At the door a woman came in, she had brown/blonde balayage hair and dark brown hazel eyes, her eyes met me on stage and she smiled and made her way towards the bar.

I finished the song soon after and said thank you to everyone for listening and made my way over to the bar. Behind the bar Alice just finished helping the strange woman who managed to steal Max's attention from me. I froze as the though passed my mind, recognising the jealousy immediately and deciding that maybe it was a fluke, but my mind keeps bringing up the glare he gave her.

"Alice do you know that woman?" I asked, seen as Alice was more prone to remember regulars and people who came more often.

"Firstly, you were amazing up there! You have the voice of an angel," I flinched internally at her compliment, but smiled thankfully anyways. "And secondly, nope, haven't seen her here before but did you see that Max did make it just in time for your performance! Speak of the devil..."She glanced over my shoulder and I turn around to see Max standing there with a big smile.

"You were amazing up there, my love! Sorry I was late traffic was the absolute worst and there was a small incident at work, but I made it in time, Alice messaged me so I knew I had to hurry up," He pulled me in for a hug and I could feel his breath on my ear. "I got out of that stupid cab and flew here, thank you for that beautiful song, I would save you in a heart beat again, any day, any time." He whispered and before he pulled away he gave me a soft kiss on my cheek.

I looked up at him, even though he was only slightly taller than me. His green eyes were now darker and had a soft red glow on the outside of his pupil, showing his emotions were true and taking over... or he was just simply lustful, either way it made me happy. I knew he loved me, he has proven this to me many times, still sometimes I am doubtful and worry about him, only for him to prove me wrong again. He holds my heart in the palm of his hands.

"Alice is it okay if I take my 20 minute break now?" I asked as she was helping a customer, she only nodded at me and continued working.

I took Max's hand and led him out of the side exit of the bar, he immediately took charge once we were in the alley as he pulled me to the side and pushed me against the cold brick wall.

He started kissing me passionately, his hands sliding underneath my shirt, sliding up my torso and then slowly dragging down as he dug his nails into my skin, making me moan out loud. I ran a hand up the back of his neck and grabbed a handful of his hair, breaking the kiss and opening him up for me, just to shower his neck with kisses and small bites making him groan as he presses himself harder against me, making me feel the growing arousal in his pants.

"NO YOU CAN'T DO THAT!" A feminine voice yelled and we both froze and looked over in the direction it came from. "I am reporting a very serious situation, nobody has the authorization to make decisions like that!" I recognised the woman on the phone as the girl from earlier.

She hadn't noticed us standing here as she was arguing with someone over the phone, I looked at Max who seemed super furious as he stared at her, I softly pressed myself against him again and felt he had gone soft, informing me that he wasn't angry that we were interrupted but rather that something was going on, only I had no idea what was going on. Max turned to look back at me and his gaze softened, he gave me a kiss on the corner of my mouth.

I only looked at him puzzled.

"Don't worry, I just have something to sort out real quick."
