I was intrigued by Gary’s statement.
Why was Susan reclusive? What happened in her past? Does it have anything to do with why she didn’t seem happy when there were visitors? There were a lot of questions running in my head. While it’s not in my position to pry, I couldn’t help myself.
“What happened to her?”
Gary met my eyes, an apologetic expression plastered on his face. I noticed the graying of his facial hair, the wrinkles on his forehead, and the years that had passed visible on his face. “It’s really not my story to tell. However, I’m sure every resident here has heard of the story from the caregivers so we can give her some grace.”
