At that moment, a figure slowly emerged from the darkness, moving lightly as if he were a gust of wind through the forest. His silhouette gradually became clear in the firelight, revealing a young and handsome face. His hair was casually tied back with a simple ribbon, his eyes bright and profound, as if he could see into one's soul. A sword hung at his waist, the scabbard plain but with a subtle chill that commanded respect. "Everyone, there's no need to worry. The Central Realm town is just ahead, and the remaining journey should be safe," his voice was calm and gentle, yet carried an undeniable authority, "My name is Qi Shao. I was passing by and saw you in danger, so I lent a hand." The elder looked at the young man with surprise and relief in his eyes. He stepped forward and bowed deeply: "So you are the hero Qi Shao. I have some acquaintance with your master, the Old Wine Immortal, and have long heard of your great name. Today, I see that it is well-deserved." Qi Shao nodded slightly, his gaze shifting to the handsome young man who had just whispered to the elder. Despite his simple attire, the young man's refined aura was unmistakable; clearly, he was no ordinary merchant, and—undoubtedly—a woman in disguise! The elder, noticing Qi Shao's gaze, pulled him aside and whispered, "Qi Shao, to be honest, our caravan is in big trouble now. The Black Wind Demon is after us, all for the sake of this Miss Furong. We are truly powerless to protect her and can only shamelessly ask for your help to secretly take Miss Furong away from here." Qi Shao's brow furrowed slightly as he asked, "The Black Wind Demon? Why is he after Miss Furong?" The elder hesitated for a moment, then sighed, "It's a complicated matter, hard to explain in a short time. Qi Shao, I can only ask you to trust us for the sake of your master. The safety of Miss Furong is of great importance. You will understand the reason in due course." Qi Shao pondered for a moment, then nodded, "In that case, I promise you, I will escort Miss Furong away." Under the hazy moonlight, Qi Shao and Furong quietly left the caravan, following the winding path deep into the night. In the silence, Furong could not suppress her doubts and asked softly, "Qi Shao, why are you willing to lend a helping hand to a stranger like me?" Qi Shao smiled faintly, a sense of composure in his expression: "The way of chivalry asks for no reward. Serving the country and the people, relieving the distressed and helping the needy, is the bounden duty of our kind." Furong's eyes showed deep respect: "Qi Shao, not only are you a master of swordsmanship, but you also have a heart of justice, truly admirable. I have always wanted to learn swordsmanship. I wonder if Qi Shao would be willing to teach me?" Qi Shao pondered for a moment, a hint of difficulty in his eyes as he spoke softly, "Miss Furong, the path of swordsmanship is not easy. It requires not only the accumulation of time but also talent and relentless effort. I'm afraid this path might be too difficult for you." Furong's eyes dimmed slightly, a flash of disappointment crossing her face. She bit her lip gently and whispered, "I understand, Qi Shao. Perhaps it was a fleeting interest, but I will not give up. I will prove that I have the ability to learn swordsmanship." As they walked and talked, they unknowingly arrived at a simple roadside restaurant. The dim light inside was warm and comforting, just the place to soothe the fatigue of travel. They chose a corner seat, tasting the steaming dishes while continuing to discuss their ideals and share their views on the martial world, finding an endless array of topics. Just as they were enthusiastically planning their future adventures, Qi Shao suddenly stopped with his chopsticks in hand, his gaze sharply focused on the door. "Come out, friend who has been following us all the way," Qi Shao said indifferently. As he finished speaking, a young man with an embarrassed smile walked in from outside. He scratched his head awkwardly, "Qi Shao is indeed famous, I thought I was following discreetly, but I was still discovered." Qi Shao smiled slightly, his tone gentle: "Your skills are good, but they still need some refinement. Why have you been following us?" The young man was frank: "My name is Liu Feng. To be honest, I heard the fight in the forest earlier and also wanted to help the caravan, but before I could act, Qi Shao had already resolved the crisis. I admire Qi Shao's chivalrous spirit and superb swordsmanship, so I followed, wanting to make friends with someone like Qi Shao. I hope to practice swordsmanship with Qi Shao, to walk the path of chivalry together, and to contribute to the righteous cause of the martial world." Upon hearing this, a smile played on Furong's lips: "It seems we have another companion." Liu Feng's eyes sparkled with enthusiasm and desire: "If Qi Shao and this... um, miss... do not object, I am willing to join your ranks and venture through the rivers and lakes together!" The three exchanged smiles, their destinies intertwined on this moonlit night. Inside the small restaurant, the dim light mixed with the smell of smoke and tea, creating a warm yet slightly chaotic atmosphere. In the corner, Furong, Qi Shao, and Liu Feng sat around a worn wooden table, the light playing on Furong's face, reflecting the worry in her eyes. She took a deep breath and broke the silence. "Qi Shao, Liu Feng, I know you both have many questions," Furong's voice was particularly clear in the silence, "Why the Black Wind Demon is relentless in his pursuit, all of this... is related to this jade pendant I carry." Qi Shao and Liu Feng's gazes turned to Furong simultaneously, in the dim light, the jade pendant in her hand emitted a faint glow. This pendant, she had always regarded as a family heirloom, but she never expected it would bring such a disaster. "This jade pendant was left to me by my mother," Furong's voice trembled slightly as she gently stroked the patterns on the pendant, her tone carrying a hint of nostalgia, "She said it was a family heirloom, the key to our family's history." Qi Shao's gaze shifted from the pendant to Furong: "You have never mentioned your family, Furong. This jade pendant... does it have something to do with the Black Wind Demon?" Furong took a deep breath, "My family is related to an ancient celestial clan. This clan was once a legend in the martial world, but later mysteriously disappeared." Her voice was low, carrying a hint of mystery, "This jade pendant is said to be the key to unlocking the celestial clan's relics." Qi Shao examined the jade pendant closely, his gaze sharp as if trying to see through the secrets hidden behind it. "If the Black Wind Demon wants this jade pendant, it must be extraordinary," he said in a deep voice, "We cannot sit idly by; we must take the initiative to investigate the Black Wind Demon's movements." Liu Feng nodded, his eyes sparkling with the enthusiasm and determination of a young swordsman. "I agree. Moreover, I have an idea." He lowered his voice, speaking mysteriously, "Perhaps we can return to that place from yesterday and see if we can find more clues." The three decided to return to the battlefield early the next morning, hoping to find more clues about the Black Wind Demon. As the night deepened, they left the small restaurant and embarked
