Beep..beep..beep!!!!
I lazily reached my alarm clock that sat on my cherry wood night stand next to my bed. I stretched as I got out of bed to start my daily routine. I went over to my walk-in closet and chose my out fit for the day. I'm off today so I settled with a pair of straight leg blue jeans a black V-neck t-shirt and a pair of black open toe sandals that strapped across my feet. I laid it across my bed as I set for my shower.
I exited my bathroom and got dressed. I brushed my long golden hair that came just above my waist. I headed out to my car and drove a few blocks to the town shops. I felt in the mood to shop today so those are my plans.
I made it into the my first choice of stores, a simple clothing shop, and started to feel a little light headed. I leaned against a rack of clothing as my balance begin to falter, and my vision becomes unstable and blurred. As I tried to regain my composure, my hand slipped from its hold on the rack as I saw the tiled floors reach closer and closer to my face ever so slowly. As my vision darkens, a pair of eyes are staring straight into mine, so close I can feel the intensified heat of his breath on my skin. I fade into nothingness as he's still there staring. This can't be real. Those eyes boring deep into mine as if searching through my soul for answers. I close my eyes, which by my surprise are already closed. I cannot escape those eyes. His lips began to move so perfectly, I'm stuck in the movement of them that I can't make out the sound of his voice or hear clearly the words that are being spoken. Suddenly his face alters and fade away.
I slowly open my eyes and let the bright light sink in. I glance around the room I'm in. I'm laying in a hospital bed with the horrid hospital gown hanging loosely on my body.
"You're awake" a voice I recognized as Aunt Linda said excitedly. I looked to the left of me and saw my aunt sitting in the chair next to the bed. I didn't even realize she was sitting there embracing my left hand.
"What happened?" I asked her.
"I believe you passed out at the shop you were in. You've been out for three days dear." I couldn't believe it. I raised my eyebrows to question her but before I had the opportunity to open my mouth, she began again, "The doctor said that you need to shift more often than you do, or you're going to weaken your wolf." She looked at me as if I was a small child. So much sorrow in her eyes. I couldn't help but want to obey her.
The silence in the room left me to my thoughts. I couldn't help but think about those eyes. They were the color of a gloomy cloud. The type that let you know a storm is coming. A dark grey. He had a sinister look in his eyes, one that would scare the meanest and toughest of any bully you could come across. I only wonder why would they have been staring at me.
"Angel honey, are you alright?" That one question startled me from my thoughts. I hastily looked at my aunt and shook my head "yes" to her. She looked at me worriedly and begin to rummage througe her things. "I brought you a change of clothes so when you're able to leave you can have them to change into. The doctors are more than likely going to keep you here to run test to make sure you're ok." Again I shook my head not knowing how to respond. She got up to leave, "I'm going to go ahead and leave now, Phillip just arrived to take me home. We will be back tomorrow to check up on you." She makes her exit and I lay back against the bed. Soon I drifted off to sleep.
............................................................
I made my way out of the pack's infirmary and to the car were Phillip was patiently waiting. "Did she finally wake up?" I shook my head to inquire that she has. "How is she?"
"She fine, considering." I responded.
"She still doesn't know, and she do not need to. Its for her safety. She is better off not knowing." He sternly stated.
I looked up at him, "She needs to know. How can you believe she is safer not knowing who and what she is? They will come for her and she's not even prepared. She has not one clue what to do when that time comes." I stopped myself not being able to deal with the thought of losing her. "Its starting you know." He quickly looked at me and I lowered my head. "I can see it written all over her face. She's confused and afraid and she doesn't even know why. We can not hide it from her for too much longer. She's going to go through the changes whether we like it or not. What do you suppose we do? Wait until she goes through it and tell her just to have her hate us, or give her a heads up on what it is that's about to happen so she can be prepared and not surprised? That's your decision to make." I wiped my eyes. I can't imagine her going through this alone. She needs someone to help her. Someone by her side, she doesn't need to be alone.
"Fine." He said sounding defeated. "We'll tell her and help her prepare for what's to come." I happily relaxed into the seat as we finished the drive home.
'"Thank you, Phil dear. That's all I ask. Its better this way for her."
