Chapter 79: Why?
Vida's POV.
The energy ball hurtled toward me, a blazing sphere of pure destruction, and all I could do was stand there, paralyzed by fear. My heart hammered in my chest, my mind screaming at my body to move, but nothing happened. It was like my legs had turned to stone, and my body had betrayed me at the worst possible moment.
“Vida! MOVE!” Lucius’s voice was desperate now, full of urgency and fear, but I couldn’t. I couldn’t even breathe.
