I couldn't shake the unease that settled in the pit of my stomach. Vida was still unconscious in the other room, and the healer hadn't come out yet. The healer said it was only exhaustion, but there was no way to explain the fear that had gripped me when I saw her collapse. The way she gasped, the look in her eyes...like she had seen something beyond terror.
