14 LORIELLE OUTDID HERSELF, MANNY THOUGHT thought when he entered the ballroom. It was made to look like an eighteenth century ball. The color scheme mocked Manny and he frowned. The streamers were done in gold and white. The candles on the tables flickered, casting off golden flames. The only modern touch was posters on the walls of him smiling.
