Chapter 15               “Obviously this is too much for you to handle!” She screamed at them. “You seem to be having a hard time accomplishing what you have been told to do. Maybe I should end you right now and find someone better to take over this.”             “Your majesty, you may do with me whatever you would like. I will take it with honor.” With a bowed head, Ryte knew he wouldn’t have many more chances with his queen. All he wanted was to make sure her demands were met. But it seemed like the little queen and her soul mates weren’t going to let that happen. “I have not been able to live up to your standards and if my death will make you happy, it will make me happy.”             She got up from her throne and walked over to her best soldier. She leaned down and pulled him to his feet. The look in her eyes were that of fire and ice at once.              “My boy, this is obviously something I cannot expect you to do on your own. I should have known the rumors were true about her. My awful niece.” She said with a scowl. Her face contorted into pain at the mere mention of a family member. “We will take our forces to her this time instead of bringing her to me.”             “How will we do that my queen? They will be more vigilant than ever after the most recent attacks.” he asked.              “We will head to her courts under the image that we wish to make up for everything going on. I will pretend as if I have not been a part of all this and will be asking for forgiveness from the young ‘queen’. You will be there as proof to atone for what you and your men have done. It is then that we will fight.” The glimmer of distaste in her eyes for the only family member she has left was very bright. She couldn’t wait to get her hands on the young woman who has taken her whole realm from her. “Yes, I think that is what we will do. We all have a part to play.”             With that, she walked away saying “get the guard ready to go soldier.”             “Yes Queen Chara, we will be ready.” Ryte turned around and headed out of the queens’ throne room. He wanted nothing more than to make the woman he loved very happy. He went into the guard room where all of his soldiers, men and women, were waiting for his word. “The Queen says be ready to go. Have everything you need ready in 24 hours.”              “Where are we going?” said a young warrior, new to guard.             “Seloria.” The whispers started and the faeries began to get everything they needed. Without wings the faeries of Ventir were slower and their powers less….potent.   ___________________________________________________________________________              The bright light filtered in from behind the curtains in my room. Groaning, I turned over in my bed, just to realize that something was blocking me from moving. Zeke, well more specifically, his arm. Looking over to the other side, I see Ruby. We must have fallen asleep here last night after our talk. We spent the evening with each other, just talking and laughing about nothing in particular. It was nice to feel normal for a few hours at least. I wish it could last like this forever, just the three of us.              “Good morning,” Zeke said, finally removing his arm from around me. “How did you sleep?”              “I slept fine, I think.” I said, pulling up from the sheets and blankets. Glancing over at Ruby, I laughed a little. “Ruby will probably be asleep for a while.”             “Yes, I can only assume. Why don’t we get some breakfast?” I nodded. We both got out of bed and freshened up a little. Ruby was still asleep ten minutes later when we headed down to the kitchen. “What do you want for breakfast?”             “Cereal? Do they have cereal here?” Zeke laughed and poured me a bowl of cereal with milk. After I took the first bite, “Oh, goodness. This is amazing!” I said mouth full of food. “It reminds me of home so much.”             I ate in silence for a little while, enjoying the comforting feeling of the morning with no hustle and bustle around the castle. All of a sudden, my spoon fell out my hand and I no longer felt in control of myself. My eyes rolled back into my head and I felt myself slipping out of my seat, falling backwards. Zeke was under me before I could land on the ground.             “Elora? What’s wrong?” he asked frantically. I couldn’t really answer, my mouth wasn’t working. Is this another projection? It definitely didn’t feel like it.              Images started rolling in front of my eyes. Images of Ryte and his men being led by a woman. A woman who looked strangely like my father. Was this Chara? Was this the woman who is supposed to be my family? Another image flashed in front of me. Chara in my throne room bowing to me with a look of disgust on her face and her soldiers slowly reaching for their weapons. Another image played in front of my eyes. An image of many fae on the ground, dead, came in front of my eyes. The next thing I know, my eyesight has come back and Zeke is running towards the hospital wing of the castle.              “Zeke. Zeke, stop!” I tried to get down but Zeke won’t let go. “Zeke stop! I’m fine!”             “I’m not sure what happened to you but you need to be seen by a doctor.”              “No. I’m fine. I need to talk to you. Please. Stop.” I told him.              “Ok. Tell me.” He said. So, I explained what I had seen. The worried look on his face just seemed to get deeper and deeper. He almost look…scared. “That…we need to talk to Jyr.”             _______________________________________________________________________              “What you are telling me is something called clairvoyance. Or at least it seems that way.” Jyr told us. “Clairvoyance is a very special gift. It is a gift that again, isn’t given very often. I haven’t heard of it in many generations.”              He continued walking around the room like he had been doing the whole time I explained what had happened and what I had seen.              “So what I saw will happen?” I asked. “We can’t let any of that happen!”             “It may not happen. It is mainly a warning of what could happen. It gives you a heads up, to be prepared,” he waved my way. “We need to make a plan. Be prepared for her arrival.”             “How long do we have?” Zeke asked.             “Unsure. From what I understand, it is only a few days warning. But it could be up to a few weeks.” Jyr told us. We all looked at one another. We don’t have enough time to prepare.              “Hey guys! You weren’t in the room when I woke up so I thought you were at breakfast but when I went in there one of the maids said she saw you all heading this way.” Ruby sayd excitedly. Then she saw our faces. “What’s wrong?” she asked walking over to me. “Are you ok? What happened?”             “I’m fine. Jyr said that I have clairvoyance and that I just saw a warning. About Chara.” Ruby’s eyes darkened. “She is heading this way and I need to be prepared. I need to be trained completely.”             “When is she coming?” Ruby asked.             “Any day now. We need to get with Claire.” Zeke told her.              “Ruby and Zeke, will you allow me a moment with our queen?” Jyr asked.             “Umm…sure.” Zeke and Ruby looked at me as they headed out.             “What’s up Jyr?” I asked.             “I did not get the chance to fully thank you for coming back and saving me. Saving us. Thank you my queen. I will be forever thankful for that.”             “It is my job to take care of my people. I haven’t been a queen long but I know that will forever be my biggest duty.” I told him, smiling.              “Your powers are growing at an extremely fast rate. I, we, need you to take care of yourself. You have extraordinary powers but you are still new to this world. Don’t let it take a toll on you. We cannot lose you like we lost your parents.”             “I will keep that in mind. Thank you Jyr.” I gave him a hug and headed out to meet with Zeke and Ruby. I needed to get my gifts under control and quickly.   __________________________________________________________________              “Is everyone ready to go?” Chara asked.              “Yes my queen. They are prepared.” Ryte told her, bowing. “When you tell us, we will head out.”                        “Good. Let’s go. I can’t wait to meet my lovely niece.” Chara looked out over her balcony. She could just look over the trees and see the tip of the castle in Seloria. The whole realm should be mine! I can’t wait to take it from that little girl. She never deserved it. None of them did! She thought. That sickly smile creeping over her face. She would enjoy this, just like all of the others.              "Yes my queen. Your wish is mine to command."
