Amy I couldn't believe it. I watched in disbelief as Mr. Carlton's car pulled away, taking my carefully baked biscuits with it. Brian had callously tossed the paper bag into the trash, and my heart sank. "What the hell?" I muttered under my breath, frustration and anger welling up inside me. All my efforts to get closer to Mr. Carlton had seemingly gone to waste. I had hoped that my little gesture would make him notice me, but it appeared that he didn't care one bit. Feeling a mix of disappointment and determination, I strode over to the trash bin and retrieved the paper bag. It wasn't about the biscuits anymore; it was about proving myself to Mr. Carlton. I couldn't let this setback deter me. As I held the paper bag in my hands, I couldn't help but feel a surge of anger toward Brian.
