Chapter 5

(JAYDEN'S POV)

I've been sending a lot of gifts to her tho, and she hasn't really given me a positive reply.

"Hi jayden, good morning." It was Elora greeting me for the first time ever.

"Good morning Elora, how are you" I asked. "I'm okay" She replied.

"Are you heading to class now"? She asked. " I was thinking we could head to class together".

"Sure we can" I replied unable to believe my eyes. So my gifts were getting to her finally, I thought to myself.

We walked to classroom together talking about how our nights went.

I was so happy that she's finally seeing me as a friend, and now I have a chance to get back at her for what she had done.

"I really want to thank you for the gifts tho, can't really explain how happy I was when I saw them, and I'm sorry for being rude earlier to you." She apologized.

"Its okay I guess, but we are cool now?" I asked.

"Yes we are. In fact let's reintroduce our self's, I'm Elora Sm ith" She said with a smile while extending her hand.

"I'm jayden John" I replied with a smile also.

"Can I call you JJ then" She aksed laughing. "Well, I don't like it, but I guess I can make an exception for you." I answered.

Then we got to our seats and it was time for classes. I couldn't concentrate on the teachers class because I was too excited about the turn of events for the better.

We had lunch together, alone at first, but then later her friend Freda joined and so did mine Sam.

We all talked about different topics till we has to return to classes, there we still kept on talking to each other any chance we got.

After it was closing period, my mom had earlier informed me that she'd be coming to pick my brother and asked me if I'd be following her home also. Which I had replied no to.

So we walk towards the gate together where I see my mom waving at me while driving off with Aaron

"Where do you stay"? I asked. "I stay in no2 Hilton street." She replied.

"That's nice, I have a friend there," I said "oh, where do you stay then?." She also asked.

"I live in no16 Beverly street." I replied. "Well it's not that far, possibly a 20 minutes journey from your place on a taxi."she said.

"Hmm yeah, do you plan on coming someday?" I asked

"Depends, do you want me to come?" She also asked with a mischievous smile.

"Uhmm, We'll find out as times go on."

We are normally meant to go in opposite directions but then, I decided to see her off for a while.

We walk for a little while talking, and then I other a ride for her. As she gets in, "what is your social media handle?" I asked. "Elora smith on all of them." She replied.

"Okay dr, I'll text you later. Bye, see you tomorrow." I said

"Thanks Jayden, I'll see you tomorrow, byeee" She replied.

Then I watch the car drive off. I was so pleased with myself. Haha, "and it begins" I said aloud.

So I headed home myself in another ride I had ordered.

On getting home I met my mom and Aaron watching a movie as usual.

"Hey, mum" I greeted. "Hi" She reply half minded, too focused on the movie before her.

I then ran up to my room and immediately brought out my phone and searched for Elora smith on i********:.

I don't see many videos or pictures. So I liked all I saw and then started following her. And then I sent hi to her.

Then I change out of my school uniform. Oh I should probably tell Sam about my progress with Elora. Coincidentally I already had an unread text from him. So I decided to call him instead.

"Yo Jay, how'd it go with Elora I looked for you all over after closing periods so I figured so you may have gone home with her or maybe saw her off?!" He asked

"Yeah I saw her off, bro can you believe it, the same girl who publicly embarrassed me is now falling deeply just cause of a few gifts. I guess I can get any girl I really mean to" I said in a boastful manner.

"Yeah, so what's the next step bro" He asked

"Well, here comes the flirting time bro. Imma make her fall so hard, and then dumb her like the rest. Cause she's a girl after all. That's the only thing they're good for bro, feel me" I explained.

"Yes bro, I do get it. Just keep me updated on the matters issue aight?" He asked

"Sure bro, I will" I replied

"Okay, bye" he said

I then hung up and proceeded to do my assignments and checked my phone from time to time to see if Elora had replied me already. But it was more than 4 hours with no reply yet.

Then I get a notification saying I have a new follower namely Elora smith, and immediately also get a text from her when I was playing some Call Of Duty Mobile on my phone. And I quickly minimize the game to reply.

Me: how are you?

Her: I'm fine and you?

Me: I'm okay but missed you a bit tho.

Her: awwn, that's sweet.

Me: so what's up?

Her: nothing much, just finished doing some chores and decided to come reply some unread texts.

Me: oh, I was waiting for your reply tho, it seems you don't come online usually.

Her: yeah, I don't. Not regularly.

Me: why?

Her: because I usually have other things to do, and I don't really chat with people that much.

Me: well now that we're friends, do you think you can come a bit more regularly and quicker than this?

Her: lol, because of you I will.

Me: thanks dr, by the way, i think you're very cute.

Her: you're so sweet, thanks dr. I also think you're cute tho.

Me: yeah, so what you doing right now?

Her: just watching a movie series titled the calling.

Me: oh, I've seen the movie. Even finished it. It's a good movie.

Her: yeah I know, but don't you dare spoil it for me. I have to go now. Mum's calling me to come do something. And I probably won't be able to come back online.

Me: okay then, good night in advance. Sleep well and dream of me.

Her: lol (with a laughing emoji) I'll try to. You also sleep well okay?.

Me: yeah talking to you will definitely make me sleep like a child.

Her: lol okay then, bye.

Me: bye.

Then she logged out and I was impressed by how much we had moved past the hatred she had for me.

Were those gifts really the reason she suddenly changed her cold attitude towards me? I asked myself.

Well, I don't really care, as long as I get what I want. I thought.

I just realized, through our conversation, I didn't reply other messages and just strictly waited for her texts and replied as soon as I got them

Is that how much invested I am in bagging this girl? I asked myself. Oh well. It will probably be all worth it in the end.

Then I resume the game I was playing. And after a little while, I got bored and switched to watching an anime and fell asleep while watching it.

After what seemed like minutes, my alarm began to ring and I briefly arose and went to had my bath, ate and headed to school.

I meet Elora in school and i go to hug her and she doesn't decline my hug. And this makes me happy but i didn't show it.

"How was your night elora" I asked.

"It was peaceful, how was yours?" She also asked.

"It was fine. Did you eventually dream of me?" I asked her.

"Uhmm, if I'm being honest, no" She replied laughing. I then made a sad facial Expression and she rubs my head to prevent me from feeling sad.

"I'm happy now" I say smiling.

"Awwn, that's good" she replied "let's head to class, she replied."

In class I look at her and thought on ways I could make her come to my house, but was it too soon? I thought to myself.

But I think if I asked her to come to my house for a study session or something relating to that, I'm sure she'll accept.

"Elora" I called. "Yes Jayden," she replied looking at me.

"Uhmm, how would you feel about coming to my house so we can study together, or I could come to your house instead." I asked with a sincere look

"I would have loved that, but like the reason I come online late yesterday, I'm always busy" and I have won't be able to make time to come over.

"I'll also be too busy when you do come over to my house and I wouldn't want that, so sorry but no".

"Its okay dr, I understand." I didn't know whether to believe her excuses or just deem them as lies. But then she did say she was busy yesterday. And she's relating it to today's schedule too.

So it isn't that much of a big deal I guess, she should be telling the truth.

"So Elora, since you're my new friend, I think you should tell me all about yourself"

She does tell me some interesting things about her, and we talk and vibe over a lot of topics.

Then it was lunch time. We both had lunch with all our friends, where some of my friends joked around saying we've been moving around together a lot lately, and they were wondering if we were dating.

"That can't be possible, we all know that Jay..." Dave was trying say before Sam interrupted him.

"All know that what?" Elora asked.

"Oh nothing dr" dave replied. I then wink at Sam and gave David the stink eye.

Lunch break ended shortly after, so we went back to attend the remaining lectures for the day. And when it was time, we closed for the day. I repeated the earlier routine of seeing her off to a certain house and then ordering a cab for her. But this time she went in for a hug herself before we departed.

Wow. This girl is really taking a liking to me then, that's the only explanation possible for the sudden affection and attention I'm getting.

Then I ordered another taxi which happened to be right beside the street and went home in it.
