"Nothing at all?" Annie"s eyes were the saddest and emptiest chocolate brown pools I"d ever seen. A gentle, "I"m sorry" was all I could muster, but somehow words weren"t necessary. Annie sighed as she bowed her head. I looked to Gabe for help. He nodded towards the kitchen and I followed. Speaking quietly to Gabe as we retreated to the next room, I voiced my frustration.
