Chapter 30Westley sat in the wheelchair at the hospital, leaning his right hand on the armrest, his chin resting in the palm of his hand. Despite the medication the nurse administered some time ago, he felt like he’d been run over by a car. Every muscle, every bone, every inch of his skin felt bruised. His head pounded, making it nearly unbearable to sit under the fluorescent lights and take in his sterile white surroundings. But he refused to close his eyes. Every time he did he saw the ghost, heard the crash as his horse hit the jump. After that it all went black. And at this point, he really did not want to remember the rest of the accident. Let it be erased from his mind. He continued to glance out the window, the day having gone from beautifully sunny to gray and rainy. The darkness
