Chapter 1

Two carriages can be seen moving towards the capital, there were 10 servants moving by foot outside the carriages. There were also three horsemen at the front and three at the back of the carriages moving along guarding the carriages.

Just one glance at them and you can tell that that they were a noble family. In the front carriage were the two men of the Bai family.

And the back carriage was the only princess of the Bai family.

Bai Mei Ling.

It was a well known fact that the Emperor had decided to betroth the third prince and the Bai Mei Ling. And that is the reason why the person who never even set a foot outside her house for 16 years would be going to the royal capital. They would be engaged this year and the marriage would commence once the woman is 18 years old.

In the front carriage two men were busy in talking about business, You might be wondering what business it could have been so,

" Father how could you agree to give our precious girl to someone else? "

Bai Qing Lai said with the questioning look adorning his face. Bai Bing Wen sighed and replied to his son,

" That is a given. She is not arrogant as the other young misses in the capital. Also cares about her family."

" well that is true. But the problem at hand is that Can we do something to cancel this engagement? "

" We cannot son, as it is a royal decree. The only possible way is if the third prince rejects the engagement himself."

" I don’t think that that would be possible father. Because even if the third prince said that he has no interest in the throne, he also declared that he would support his brother the 7th prince for the throne. He still need emperor's favor to help his brother."

Whereas in the back carriage Bai Mei Ling was busy thinking about the things she should be doing.

She was extremely scared at the thought of getting married into the royalty. It had only been 2 months since she came to this unknown world. This world even though greatly resembled ancient china but was significantly different.

If it was just for sight seeing she would have been happy to experience a different era. But clearly this was not the case right now. She is not here in her dreams or just to sightsee. She is in a real world. And she has to live in this world till her pitiful life ends.

It would have been fine if she transmigrated in a modern world. Though it would have been hard to adjust but she might have done something. But in an ancient era it is hard. It took time for her to get used to her name.

She and the people in this area do not share the same values. There common sense is widely different than hers. The skills that were deemed useful in her previous life may be considered as bold and unwanted.

No matter how glorious others say that the title of royalty and prince seems they don’t understand how scary it actually is.

' only if the royalty was similar to those inside romance novels. '

Talking about novels she did transmigrate inside a novel. ' 7th princes genius doctor wife.'

It was a typical story where a genius doctor in a modern world transmigrates to ancient place as an unwanted concubines daughter. Who is looked down upon by others. Helps male lead in some random stuff like his important right hand man got injured solved it and viola everything is solved. Or someone is poisoned and no one knows the cure of it and all of a sudden the female lead comes saying I have the cure in my hand.

She becomes famous. Her step mother and trashy half sisters who were sadly after her fiance the 7th prince are face slapped and than just random people kidnap her they are destroyed and than something happens from the neighboring country and than a new mission starts basically a never ending s**t with op leads.

So where does she come from,  Well she is the prospective sister in law of the male lead. Who was loved by her family. She was not your typical arrogant villainess character or someone who would harm the leads she was innocent and cute character who was manipulated by the villainess to think that the female lead seduced the 3rd prince as well, and they have questionable relationship, she being a naïve person did not know what to do? She hated the fact that there would be something like this.

She did tell the female lead separately what the villainess told her and what the rumors about her say about her. In the end she rejected the engagement and that lead for her father to be stripped of his title and his wealth being taken away as it was the same as treason. They would have died but female lead helped her to lower the punishment.

It was such a minor character. After that there was nothing said about her.

At first there were many discussions saying that 3rd prince loved this character but they went away as soon as the scene where 3rd prince confesses to female leads maid was shown, that maid character was extremely fierce and badass and 3rd prince fell in love with her once they had to participate in a war, in that confession he said that,

" I had never felt this way with anyone before you."

That is where we found out that he never even saw Bai Mei Ling let alone love her. His love story in the novel was really sad as it turned out that maid was actually a spy spent by the 2nd male lead who was the prince of a neighboring country. In the end 3rd prince died a really sad death.

Honestly this novel was really bad with a lot of plot holes and the same repetitive plot. You might be thinking why I read it if the novel was that bad well not my fault I was a screen writer. And a translator and proofreader for a group that translated novels, and this novel was one of there project.

' I had to read it despite hating it so much.'

So the time that I had transmigrated was 3 months after the female lead had transmigrated and now it had been 5 months, this is the time when the 7th prince is highly interested in his fiance that his mother had chosen for him when he was young.

His mother also chose a woman for his elder brother 3rd prince as well but that woman died due to pandemic. The pandemic passed but it left a lot of casualties. Bai Mei Lings mother also died due to this disease, leaving father Bai devastated.

Bai family is a family of warriors, father Bai was a former general but due an injury he resigned for this post and his son succeeded him later on. For generations the men of Bai family only kept one wife, despite having polygamy valid in this era. And they only had sons but Bai Mei Ling is the first girl born in the family.

Due to her mother being from a scholar family Bai Mei Ling was taught proper manners of a lady, she had a weak constitution but Bai Mei Ling still learnt self defense skills.

If you ask Bai Mei Ling that if she is afraid than yes she is. But not because of being inside a novel or anything. It could be possible that the novel was written by someone from this world who was reborn or transmigrated to her own world. The thing is she does not want to get involved with the royalty at all,

' no one ever had good consequences in attaching yourself to royalty. No matter how glorious it look. '

and with that they reached the capital.
