I sigh as I scroll through my phone when I see I had 5 missed calls 'what the hell? Why would the guys call me so much? Oh and a text off dad' I think to myself as I read the text, when I finished reading the text I send a reply then my phone rang so I answer "what do you want dude?...No I can't...never mind asking why...look, what I do when I'm not with you guys is none of your business...I know, I know, I'm sorry dude, just under a lot of pressure is all...ok man, and I'll get onto that as soon as I can...by the end off this week it'll be done....I know, don't worry" then I see my mom come back with Azura and take her into a treatment room "look dude I'm busy right now, I'll call you back later, bye" I then end the phone call and stand back up.

I go to the room my mom has took Azura into "am I ok to stay with Scrappy now?" I say pointing to Azura while standing in the doorway "yes, of course son" my mom replies, so I go and sit on the chair next to the bed my mom had put Azura on, I see my mom going to Azura with a needle and empty vile "what are you doing now?" I ask curiously "I need to take some blood to send to the lab, I need to see if her condition has gotten worse or remained the same" my mom replies "oh ok" I say as my mom takes the blood she needs "I'm going to put them through as urgent, I should get the results pretty quickly" "oh cool" I say as my mom puts the top back on the vile now full with Azura's blood, just as she takes take the needle out and covers the needle hole with a dressing and medical tape she gets a notification, my mom looks at the notification "speaking of results, Azura's x-ray results have been sent to me, excuse me please son" "of course mom, oh and thanks again" she smiles then leaves.

I stay in the room sitting right next to Azura, "why AJ? Why hit so hard it knocks the guy out? Sure he deserved it, but you've got OI type 1, and you sure don't deserve this. I just wish for once in your life you'd look after yourself, you look like you've not slept in who know how long? You look so underweight it's scary. I hate you being sedated, but you would of hurt yourself much more, but don't worry I'll keep my promise, I won't leave your side. You've got OI type one, you need to bee more careful" I say as I gently give her a kiss on her forehead then a hug "don't worry AJ, I'll stay by your side" I say then sit back on the chair.

About 5 minutes pass then my mom comes back in the room, I turn around to look at my mom "well, you were right son. Her hand and wrist are definitely broke, so is 4 vertebrae in her neck, leg, foot and ankle. Sher hand and wrist will be put in plaster cast for a few weeks and so will her foot, ankle and leg as for her neck though, that'll get put in a neck brace so she won't be able to move her neck until it's healed. The stuff is getting prepared as we speak, you done the right thing bringing her here son, even if it doesn't feel like it" my mom says trying to reassure me "what about the other tests? Are the results back?" I ask "not yet son" my mom replies "so what's the plan? She could wake up anytime soon and we both know she won't be happy" "about that, I'm going to give her sedation now, then put her on drip that will keep her calm. I'm giving her more now so I can do what I have to and also the pour love hasn't slept much if any at all for a long time. Hopefully sedating her to keep her asleep for a few hours will help her. I'm going to keep her in while her bones are recovering, also this way, I can keep an eye on her" "ok mom" I say as my mom gives Azura more sedation through the canula, then she puts up the drip.

But then she put up a 2nd drip to her other hand "why have you put 2 drips up, you said you'd only put 1 up with the stuff to keep her calm" I say, I know my mom is a professional, I mean she OWNS a hospital, my mom is the top of the top, so I know she's only do stuff to help Azura but I still got a bit protective "Relax son, the 2nd drip is just saline" my mom says calmly as she understands why I'm so protective "oh, ok, sorry mom, I'm just..." my mom then cuts me off "it's ok son, I understand. you need to relax though, the drip with the saline is just to prevent her from dehydrating" "ok, I'm sorry" I say feeling bad that I questioned her when she's only doing what she has to "it's ok son" my mom says reassuringly, letting me know she understands as she starts to put the plaster casts on Azura whilst I look on.

After about an hour or 2 later my mom finishes putting on the plaster casts and the neck brace then turns to me "there, she's going to be well away for a while and her plaster cast and neck brace have been put on" "thanks for this mom, I really appreciate it and I'm sure AJ does too in her way. It's just she's always hated hospitals, more so since she was little and was ill, but then when she lost Talia..." "I know Marcus, I know" "but then when she said she was wanted by the police again, which means she's been in trouble with them multiple time, I was so shocked" I say talking to my mom "a lot has happened in the last few years son, and it's not your fault you've not had time to catch up with her But you can tell she's been handled roughly as there were some brakes, which you can see hasn't knitted together properly" guilt came over me, I felt terrible that I put the army training ahead of Azura "I've been an awful friend, being distant and not here for her, putting the army before her. Then when she said she had no insurance and no money at all, I just....I didn't know what to do" my mom looks at me dead in the eye "listen to me Marcus, you did the best thing messaging and bringing her to me. I'll put in her medical file when she leaves that I'm her doctor, and she is to be brought to me. As for thinking you're a bad friend, you're not. You did what you could, you have a life, and also an army commitment, you're not a terrible friend, trust me" she says as she put a hand on my shoulder to comfort me and kisses my head as I look at Azura.
