~Jennifer~
It's been 2 months Marcus brought Azura in, and I've kept to my word of being the only one to be looking after Azura, I've not been home in the 2 months and the only time I've had 'time out' has been when Marcus has been here, but even then it's not been proper maybe hopefully there isn't a next time, but if there is I will have someone else help with Azura's care.
I'm at her bedside going over her chart and other tests have came back and it's good news 'finally after 2 months she's stable enough to not be in the induced coma, my son will be so happy. Him and Oliver have come everyday to visit Azura, anyway I best get everything ready and prepared' I think to myself as I look through all notes and check all monitors.
As if on queue Marcus and Oliver enter the room "hey mom" Marcus says as he walks up to Azura's bedside, Oliver following behind "hi Mrs. B" I smile at them both "hey boys, how are you today?" I ask as they both sit down at Azura's bedside "I'm good mom" "no complaints from me" they say "that's great to hear" I say smiling, then Oliver asks "what's the score with Miss Rocky?" Marcus smirks then shakes his head "such a way with words man" Oliver just shrugs "meh" I chuckle at the boys interaction, then it's my turn to talk and give the good news "well boys, she's finally stable enough for me to bring her out of the induced coma" Oliver is beyond happy "that's amazing, never doubted you for a second Mrs. B" "it is good news, thank you Oliver" my son Marcus was happy....but much more cautious "are you really ready for that though mom? Have you got a plan? You know what she'll be like when she wakes up" "I'm just on my way to get everything ready, including sedation" I reassure my son, who as much as he's wanted this day to come, is obviously very concerned as he knows what Azura is capable of "that's good, it'll be nice to see her awake and talk to her" he replies relief clear on his face "she's also put weight on and is at a healthier weight than when she arrived" "that's amazing mom" a very happy Marcus replies, I smile then leave to get what is needed.
~Marcus~
My mom left, then Oliver turns to me "urm dude, what does your mom need to get sedation for? I thought she's getting woken up, so why would your mom need sedation?" I hesitate "urm..." then Oliver starts "please tell me dude, if I'm going to be her friend I need to know this stuff" I sigh in defeat knowing he was right "fine, I'll tell you but you don't say a word to anyone unless asked to, ok?" Oliver nods "that's sound with me" I take in a breath then carry on "well she has OI type one....but she also has a very bad temper, and a serious dislike for hospitals. It was next to impossible to get her here, my mom had to sedate her before even checking over her" Oliver has only seen Azura, he hasn't MET her yet, so asks "so she puts up a bit of a fight, what's wrong with that?" I then carry on to explain "she shouldn't really be 'fighting' as such due to her condition, she should avoid fighting against being restrained or fighting in general" Oliver again looking confused asks "what is OI type one anyway? is it contagious? Is that why she's here?" I pause thinking on how to explain "yes and no. Yes in a way that condition is part of the reason she's here in hospital, but no it is not contagious in any way" I finish.

Jennifer walks in just in time for my next question "so what is it then?" Marcus looks at his mom who had just entered "Osteogenesis Imperfecta also known as 'brittle bone disease', our dear Azura has type one. It causes the poor dear's bones to break extremely easy, like if she punches someone for example, her hand and wrist is most likely to break. Her joints are really loose, and she has extremely poor hearing due to hearing loss, but little madam refuses to admit it. The condition is also why she is smaller than a lot of other people her age, it also causes a slight curvature of the spine also known as mild scoliosis, and also has a slight blueish tinge to her eyes, although it's not very noticeable" I was shocked, that was a lot "wow....that's a lot of problems, at least I'll know what's normal though. All of them problems from 1 condition? Poor girl, is she in hospital much?" I ask wanting to learn more about my friend to be "should be, but isn't" Marcus replies as Jennifer carries on getting things set up "why?" I ask, I wanted to know why someone would want to put up with the pain of a broken bone and not get it checked out "she's got no insurance nor a penny to her name, as is also wanted by the police for basically doing what she had to for survival" Marcus explains 'that makes sense' I thought to myself as I take all the new information in now it all falls into place "oh, so that's why she get sedated if she gets violent? to prevent any bad stuff happening because of her condition" I say clearing up all the new found information "exactly" Marcus say 'right, now I get it' I thought to myself.
I start to get a bit hungry as I had skipped my breakfast and not had any lunch so I grab a packet of peanuts that I always keep in my jacket pocket for times like this, but then as I was about to open the packet, Marcus startled me "don't open them, please" in shock I throw the packet up then catch it again fumbling to not drop them, Jennifer leaves to carry on getting what she needs to get "why?" I asked "she is also very highly allergic to peanuts, nuts and bee or wasp stings" Marcus explains "oh, ok then. If I want to be a good friend to her, then I deffo don't want to cause a severe allergic reaction" I say as I put the packet in the bin, they weren't all that expensive anyway. Marcus smiles at my action, then Jennifer returns with the last of the equipment needed so me and Marcus go to the other side of the bed to give Jennifer easy access to get Azura off life support and out the induced coma, and I couldn't be anymore excited.
