Chapter 11

Azura starts to get a bit violent whilst pushing Jennifer away "is this what you meant?" I ask Marcus trying not to interfere "pretty much, yeah" Marcus answers watching his mom waiting for instructions on what to do, Jennifer tries to calmly speak to Azura "Azura stop, stop, listen to me or look at my lips sweetie. Your oxygen levels are low, I need to give you some oxygen, it won't hurt you, I promise" "go to hell, get, get away. I'm fine, now, get lost" a very angry but breathless Azura replies.

I tap Marcus on the shoulder as the whole situation just unravels badly "hey dude, what did your mom mean look at her lips?" Marcus looked at me "because her hearing is so poor she sometimes reads lips to see what is being said" "oh right, yeah, that makes sense" I say as I realise just how dumb my question must of sounded, we both then carry on watching Jennifer with Azura as Azura tries to hit Jennifer but Jennifer dodges it, still remaining calm Jennifer says "Azura calm down hunny, I'm only here to help you" bare in mind that all IV's and cannulas have been removed and all tubes so it's just a SAT's machine on Azura as she takes another swing at Jennifer but thankfully misses again.

 Not taking her eyes off Azura's movements Jennifer then starts talking to Marcus "son? Can you please hold her while I get the sedation?" Jennifer asks almost sounding desperate "sure of course mom" Marcus answers as if it's nothing hard 'f**k he's got balls to risk getting whacked with that force' I think to myself as Marcus tries to hold Azura while Jennifer goes out of Azura's sight to set up the sedation "nearly ready now, thanks son, it's just if we don't sedate her..." "she'll pass out due to lack of oxygen and will most probably hurt herself with hitting out" Marcus finishes his mom's sentence "exactly" Jennifer says, just then Azura decides to kick out, I had to dodge it "woah, didn't know she'd kick in my direction" "she's full on lashing out now" Marcus replies struggling to hold her down "Azura, calm down now! My mom just wants to help you" Marcus says very sternly, but a very angry and breathless Azura quickly answers "never! Now get away you..." "are you ok dude?" I say cutting in going closer to Marcus not realising I'm exactly in Azura's line of sight "I'm fine Ol, thanks" Marcus says still trying to control Azura, but then she stops. I guess she must of seen me as she stops and locks her gaze on me looking confused but not breaking her gaze at me. Again breathlessly Azura still not looking away from me asks "who? Who are you?" I answer as calmly as I can making sure she can see my lips but also signing "I'm Oliver, Marco told me about you and I was kinda hoping we could be friends one day" Marcus then looks at me shocked while holding Azura, I smile, we've made a connection straight away which by the look on Marcus's face is obviously very rare "is it ok if I come over to you properly?" I ask and sign as I seen Azura stop hitting out and nods at me "yeah sure" Marcus then lets go of Azura of Azura and lets me stand right next to him close to Azura.

I kneel to Azura's level "so what's your name Rocky?" I ask to which I then receive a breathless chuckle as she then answers "Azura, but everyone just calls me AJ" "see I got a little chuckle there AJ" I smile, then calmly continue "so will you let Mrs. Benson put you on oxygen for a little bit?" Azura starts to freak out a bit, breathlessly saying "no, I, I don't like hospitals, I don't want it" I realise I have to defuse the situation before it's too late, so calmly I say "ok, ok just calm down for me please. I won't let them put it on you right now ok? We just talk, just me and you" to which Azura nods "ok, just let me tell Marcus and his mom to leave us for a bit then ok?" Azura replies still breathless "ok" honestly the poor girl sounds like she's ran a marathon and not trained for it, I look at Marcus "fine by me since you can calm her instead of her hitting out" Marcus whispers "thanks dude" I reply as we both then look at Jennifer "ok, but not for long. She needs the oxygen, I will be back in" Jennifer says putting the sedation down "let's just go for now mom" Marcus says then they both leave the room.

I turn back to Azura "see, now it's just me and you AJ" to which I receive a faint smile "you look a bit tired and breathless, are you tired?" I ask with concern "I'm fine, I'll be, I'll be fine, did you say you name was Oliver?" Azura asks to which I then say "yeah I did, what do you like to do?" I ask and receive a one worded reply "climb" "you like to climb?" Azura nods "that's awesome" I say with slight excitement "you look reall tired are you sure you're ok?" I ask again she just nods "ok then, will you let me put the oxygen on you?" I ask desperate to try and help her "no, don't, please no" Azura says trying to catch her breath with every word "ok I won't, do you want to sleep?" I ask "yeah, I can't, I can't sleep" it was then I realised it weren't a case of she WON'T sleep it's cause she CAN'T sleep which I get, if it's mistaken for she won't it can be frustrating but it's she can't she needs something to help her sleep then I came up with the perfect idea on how to get her to sleep AND so Jennifer can give her the oxygen that she's desperately needing.

I remember how Marcus says this type of sedation that Jennifer would of set up goes in her neck when there's no cannulas or IV's in place as it works the quickest and best, so she gets sleep and oxygen, by the time she wakes up she should be fine enough to leave, I just have to now convince Azura and let it seem like she is ok with it "ok, well Mrs. Benson has medicine to help you keep calm and sleep. So you get to have some sleep and it'll help you feel less out of breath" I begin 'man I hope I'm selling this good enough to convince her' I think to myself as I continue "shall I ask her to give you it? It's just a tiny needle in your neck, but it will help you sleep. I know you don't like needles or hospitals, but you won't be here long and I'll stay with you" I finish "promise?" Azura asks clearly needing the oxygen and sleep "I promise" so then thankfully she nods giving consent.
