Zack I had just hung up after a quick and cheerful call with Zim when my phone buzzed and saw it was amy calling, my wolf became exited all over sudden and something unclenched inside my chest in a way I hadn’t expected. “Hey Amy.” My voice caught a little when I answered. It was stupid though, like the sound of a man opening a door he’d kept locked for years. She sounded small on the line, careful with words. “Can we meet? Like right now?” My chest tightened, a wave of relief flowing through me, maybe even a flicker of joy, bloomed in me. Finally I thought. Finally, we were making progress and moving past all the careful walls between us.
