Righting The Boat
“Are you sure?” asked Francesca.
“No,” admitted Luna, “but I’m younger and stronger than either of you, so it has to be me.”
“All right,” said Francesca, “do you know what to do if the kite takes us downwind?”
“Yes, you have two guide ropes to the kite,” said Luna, “so I suppose if you pull on one of them it will crash into the water.”
“Do you know where the knife is?” asked Francesca.
“No,” said Luna.
It will be in the locker, under the bench on the starboard side,” said Francesca.
“That will be the right-hand side,” said Luna.
“Yes, looking forward,” said Francesca. “Now if you have problems with the kite then cut the rope.”
“Right oh,” said Luna.
