Jared finally manned up on Wednesday, blessing Deliverance with his presence. Still, he didn't say more than 'hi' for the first two hours. Annoyed and somewhat distraught I found myself gravitating towards Tom. He sat cocky in his chair, legs spread wide, back straight, chin up. A man and a woman, twins maybe, sat across from him. To a passerby they seemed just as confident, eyes straight ahead, hands spread on the table top. But I could see feet tapping, the nervous crossing, and uncrossing of their legs. Tom had them cornered. He spoke to them in hushed tones, passing them some papers to review. When he sensed my hovering, he'd toss me an easy smile, tug on my wrist and make a request. More ice. A straw. Another napkin. Anything to keep me busy - distracted. I obliged. Happily fulfilli
