The cold from the marble floors seeped into Kinza’s feet as she walked through the Hall. Shadows twisted at every corner, but these each had twin flames for eyes. They prowled closer so she broke into a run. At the end of the hall was a set of massive doors covered in ice. She needed to get inside but couldn’t remember why. The shadows were coming closer, lurking at the edge of her vision. She clawed at the ice on the door, frantically trying to get inside, but the ice was too thick.
