lord Andrew had chose to not go with anyone. While Greg, his closest guard had insisted, he had turned him down bluntly and asked them to wait for him while he went deeper and deeper into the forest. He had a cloak on to guard him from the harsh cold of the night. Thanks to the light from the shiny full moon, he was able to see his way but the crickets noise ha been a handful for him.
It was a quiet night and then breeze brought sweet sent of the queen of the night flower. He allowed his nostrils take in as much of the scent as possible. He had not realized how much he had missed it. It was a symbolic flower for him that held beautiful and heart wrecking memories. It had been this flower that had brought Sharon's mother to him and while she departed from him, she had placed this same flower in his palm with her other hand fondling with his cheek as she smiled sweetly amidst the pain she was in. She had muttered a "cherish her with your whole being" referring to their daughter who had been careful wrapped up in a clock with smears of fresh blood on her body. He had drawn in to kiss her on her fore head and allowed his mind to read every breath she took before it became absolutely silent. His heart had sunk into his stomach and his mouth had become to heavy to open. He had cried like a baby being glad that no one had been there to witness it. It had all happened beside the same flower bush. While he had hugged his wife as well as drawing his daughter close to himself and squeezing the flower till his hands felt moist, he sobbed uncontrollably. He had tried to imagine his life without her and a new one that was about to begin with his daughter but it made more tears run down his cheeks.
Sharon had cried as a baby and once he had been able to rock her to sleep, he mustered courage to bury his wife's body under a thick layer of black sand and had marked the spot with a seed of the same flower. He wondered how big the garden would have become by now.
The sad memories were inevitable but the beautiful ones gave him hope. It had been a beautiful spring season when he had returned from a journey and had decided to walk in the forest alone just as he was doing now. Before then, he had concluded in his heart that no woman on earth and among all realms would be able to make him fall deeply in love. He had held on to this resolution with so much confidence that it began to affect the way he saw women. To him, they were just vessels for entertainment and pleasure but despite all these, it took a maiden just a song to captivate him. He had expected dears and antelopes, wild cats and pigs in the forest but not a lady. Her voice had been so enchanting that he couldn't help but trace where it was coming from. The singing stopped and it made him stop on his track.
"please let me hear you again" he had muttered under his breath and after waiting for a while and hearing nothing, he was forced to forget about it. He would have continued his journey but he felt reluctant to do so. He still had faith that he would hear the voice again and so he got a twig and began to draw lines on the ground till it was evening and the sun was about to set. He heard growling sounds from his stomach and he was then convinced to head back home. Just as he stood up to leave, he heard the voice again.
It brought excitement and a sense of urgency to run as fast as possible towards the sound to make sure he got to the source before the music stopped again. This was what he did and within minutes, he found himself in an open garden filled with the "queen of the night flowers"and there before his very eyes stood before him a woman whose beauty could not be compared to any that he had seen before.
She looked startled but it still made her appear more captivating to his eyes. She had a flowing white gown on and a bouquet of flowers in her hands. Just as Sharon, her lips were a beautiful shade of red with the same emerald eyes and thick black long hair running down to her waist line. He had to convince himself that the lady who stood before him was a mare mortal and not a goddess.
He walked further into the forest and she walked further away from him.
"" w...w... who are you? " she stuttered.
" em... emmmm.... Andrew... lord" he also found himself stuttering.
It had never happened before. No woman had been able to make him lose his tongue and the figure standing few feet away from him was doing that passively.
" Don't hurt me. I promise I won't cause you any trouble " she said bringing her hands together so that the flowers stayed in between.
It was a beautiful sight to lord Andrew. He tried to regain his composure in order to give a good impression and then her cleared his throat.
" ehemm I am lord Andrew "he said as if it would be enough to calm her down.
He watched her as she shifted further away from him while expecting him to say more.
" I heard you singing. Your voice is magical and enchanting. "he complimented her.
" oh thank you " she said bringing her head down as her cheeks flushed red.
He noticed this and capitalized on it. She was a woman who loved compliments and that was what he did for the rest of the time. He told her how her beauty had captured his heart and he was not sure if he would ever be himself if he could not have her as a wife. He flattered her more and more as he moved unsuspectingly closer to her and while he was close enough, close enough to take in that sweet scent of her body, close enough for her to also appreciate his handsomeness, he instinctively held her hands.
"oops I have to start going. It is almost dark" she said as she withdrew her hands from his. It had pained him when she did that. His hands had become too used to hers as if he had felt them all the years of his life.
"Let me take you home then" he had suggested and had gotten an abrupt "no".
"Why can't I?" he questioned with a tone of disappointment.
"my guardian won't approve of it and it is not safe for you" she replied as she began to feel fidgety.
Her actions were beginning to make lord Andrew feel more uncomfortable and he could only wish to know more.
" I am lord Andrew, one of the most powerful in the ... "he was about to say beast realm when he stopped himself from scaring her. He knew that there was a likelihood that it would scare her away from him forever and it was not about to happen. He could see from her expression that she wanted him to complete his sentence so he said to her.
" who is your guardian?"
