"You're too much!" Cora spat. "I was just telling the truth. If you don't like it, don't listen!" Ivan retorted. He stretched out his long arm, grabbed a plate of cod from the table, and handed it to Cora.
"Have some fish. Fish is good for the brain. I’ll pay, don't be shy!" After serving the dish, Ivan left gracefully.
Cora stared at the cod on the plate, feeling as if it was mocking her. She wished she could just smash the plate.
Because of Ivan's argument with Cora, many people in the restaurant recognized Olivia and started whispering. Olivia, however, ignored their gazes.
"I'm going to the hospital to donate blood this afternoon, so I can't have lobster tonight, but I can treat you to it," Olivia said. Seeing Ivan lecturing Cora was quite satisfying.
