New Beginning

The next morning, Summer and Maddox woke up to a squeal and the bed bouncing as Madison launched herself at both of her parents. “You stayed! You stayed!” she giggled, squeezing herself in between them. Summer half-smiled as she pulled the blankets tight to her naked body. “Yes, yes. Baby, why don't you go get some breakfast while we get dressed for the day and maybe we can do something fun together?” “Does this mean you're staying?” Madison asked Maddox with a bright smile, ignoring her mother. Maddox looked at Madison in awe of the fact that he already felt a deep connection with her. He didn't deserve to have the beauty that surrounded him, this amazing newfound family, but he would do anything he could to earn them. “Yes, Madison, I am.” Madison squealed giddily again as she climbed off of the bed. “Yay! I'm so happy that you are,” she smiled at him, then bounced out of the room. “Close the door!” Summer yelled after her, but of course she didn't come back. Summer shot out of bed, stealing half of the bed covers as she went to wrap around her body, leaving Maddox scrambling to cover himself with those that remained while she quickly ran over to the door, practically hurling herself at it, and locked it. “Oh, my God,” she laughed as she turned around to look at Maddox. “We have to remember to sleep with clothes on.” Maddox laughed. “Probably a good idea. I don't think she noticed though.” He crawled to the edge of the bed and kissed Summer as she approached. “Good morning. I guess we should make our daughter breakfast,” he added the last part with a smile that took over his whole face. While he pulled his clothes on, he looked over at her. “I love you Summer...I love her too,” he said, nodding toward the closed door behind which Madison was waiting excitedly. Summer grinned at his declaration of love and moved over to him, her naked body pressed tight to his half-dressed one. As she wrapped her arms around his neck, she looked into his eyes, a few strays of his jet black hair hung down over them slightly. “I was told once, that it's love if it gets hard to breathe around them... Maddox Altera, from the moment I met you, I knew we had something special and from our first date forward, you have made breathing prove difficult. After all these years, you're here in front of me again and we get another chance. We have something rare, Baby. I love you more than I ever dreamed was possible.” She leaned in and kissed him then, as if it were the last time she ever would, and he returned her kiss, caressing her shoulders. “I know the feeling, but I also know that I have been suffocating all this time without you,” Maddox admitted. They stood there for another moment, and he couldn’t help but admire her nakedness. He could feel himself beginning to stir once more, but he kept it under control. “We should go be parents before she comes back again,” he winked at her. She smiled at him. Her dream was finally coming true. Maddox was there, and they could begin their lives together as they had planned all of those years ago. “You're right,” she told him, placing a light kiss on his lips before getting dressed for the day. “What are we going to do on this lovely Saturday?” Maddox finished pulling his clothes on and looked at her smiling. “We have a very excited little girl out there who probably has a million ideas.” When she was finished dressing, he opened the door and took Summer's hand. “Let's ask our daughter,” he suggested. They went into the living room and Madison was sitting on the couch watching cartoons, eating a bowl of cereal with way too much milk. It was practically sloshing out with each dip of her spoon. Summer shook her head at the sight. “Madison, dear?” she called to her. Madison looked at her mother, smiling as she witnessed them holding hands. “What would you like to do today?” her mother asked her with a smile. “We can do anything you want.” Madison lit up like a Christmas tree. “I wanna go to the carnival!” she proclaimed, setting her bowl down on the coffee table and hopping to her feet, a hopeful gleam in her eyes. “Can we go?!” Maddox smiled at her eagerness and scooped her up, her legs dangling over his arms. “Of course. Maybe we can get some cotton candy too.” He looked at Summer and smiled. His dreams had all come true in a single night. About an hour later, they were at the Carnival and Madison was running around them in circles, filled with exuberance. “I wanna ride that one and that one and that one.... Oooh! And that one!” she exclaimed, pointing at each ride with a gigantic smile on her face. Summer laughed. “You can ride whatever you like, Baby. All I know is I am not leaving here without getting an Elephant Ear.” “And a candy apple!” Madison added. They both started laughing. Summer looked at Maddox, her eyes gleaming with joy. This was the happiest she had been in a very long time.
