590 Words
Sergio Sir, the information you wanted, Marcello said while looking at me with a confused face. Ever since last night I can't get Lisa's face out of my head. While going through the contents of the big brown envelope that Marcello just handed me, I encountered something horrific. I knew Lisa was in jail but I didn't knew she was in jail for murder! While reading through the document my blood started boiling. The mother of my son is a murderer. Being a clean billionaire in Italy isn't easy when you were bought up in a family who had dealings with the mafia. Ever since my younger brother died because of a deal going wrong, I promised my Nonna not to be a man like my mother and father . To be a honest business man and a man worthy of being a father. I could still remember it clearly, the day my younger brother died. A mob infiltrated our villa, my brother and I was swimming in the pool when a few men plucked us out of the water. They dragged us into the living room where the rest of our family was sitting tied up. My Nonna, mother, father, uncle and the prostitute who was clinging on him for the last few weeks. I didn't know what was going on, my 12 year old body was trying desperately too calm my brother who was 9. Then I heard the phrase 'A son for a son', I looked up at my parents. My mother was crying while they were untying her. Then the man, the leader of the mob I presumed, stood up and placed a gun in my mother's hands. She was trembling while walking towards us. I knew very well what they wanted her too do. I looked her in the eye and looked down, I sheltered my brother so that he don't have too see what a gruesome thing his mother was about too do in order too show her loyalty too the boss. When she was standing in front of us, I could sence that she was hesitating for a moment, but then she stopped crying only the pleads from my Nonna was audible in the room. Then the shot went off. She shot my little brother. When I opened my eyes my brothers eyes closed, the last thing he did while dying was too look me in my eyes and cling to me. I couldn't even cry. I just sat there with my brother in my arms, I didn't know what to do I was in a daze. When I snapped out of it my Nonna came rushing too me the moment they cut her loose, when she fell down and embraced my brother and I, a wave of emotions hit me all at once, I cried for what felt like an eternity, when I looked up I saw through my teary eyes my father escorting my mother who looked a little disheveled but not enough too look like someone who just lost a child, and the boss through too the office too talk about the 'deal'. If my Nonna hadn't moved too another village and convinced my parents too let her take me, under the pretext of keeping me safe. I don't think I would have ever survived or became the person I am today. That's why I would be damned too let a murderer be the mother of my son. The moment my son is born I'm divorcing her, and taking my son!
