The Next Chapter

365 Words

The Next Chapter My dear Olanda, how much money you’ve made! I just can’t understand how it can be possible. You have a shop in Warsaw. I will be eternally grateful to you for giving me a job, but I don’t know how to work. But I won’t be going home now. Now I can think of Old Man Kalina, Świerszczyk and Władek much easier. And when I do think of them, there’s one thing I’m sure of. If you’re not a believer in love, you’re a believer in the void. But love for the world and for existence isn’t about flapping your lips about pretty and pleasant things. If you hadn’t brought me to this city, which so delights me, maybe I’d’ve ended up like Old Man Kalina and I’d’ve needed to search out an owner myself just like a dog. I wonder who he belongs to now. Maybe he wanders the streets like a stray.
