“Hmmmm, soooo good.” She hummed feeding Zeus a piece of steak. Having tacos for dinner he’d left things out for her to dress hers up how she liked it. Three tacos in, she sipped her beer before asking, “Did you get the stuff you need for the floors?”
Explaining it had to be ordered and he’d get it in three days, Henry hesitated and fell flat. Every time he tried to break the ice, he had nothing to spit out. Knowing her parents were a Chernobyl topic, he didn’t know how to say he spoke to her dad.
His mistake as his mate soon went in their freezer for dessert and came back with ice cream. Sitting on the couch with them and spoons floating behind her, her eyes were a little watery.
Confused seeing the change, his question was answered before he could ask as she suddenly held up the ice cream knowingly. Still wrapped in the permafrost her father had done to keep them from melting, Katherine didn’t want to ask. She knew if her father had done this it was to keep the ice cream from melting in the heat. Meaning time was spent together.
Meaning he and her mate had talked.
And as she knocked the ice off the pints of ice cream, she tried to lie to herself and say she didn’t need to know. But she did.
“What did he want? What did he say?” Nervous as her heart raced, Henry calmed her with a kiss to the temple, “He was just wanting to talk. It was a good talk.” Katherine nodded as she ate a bite of chocolate brownie trail. “That’s good.” Silence stretched and Henry peeked at her as she strained her eyes on the tv refusing to budge.
Ice cream pints devoured and warm as the spring heat followed by a breeze made the night air feel amazing, the couple was comfortable cuddled on the couch. Tension melting and only the comfort needed, Katherine was laying into his neck when she looked as it flexing when he swallowed.
Eyes taking in the movement, Katherine remembered biting his neck before and as he said her name, she suddenly did it again. Grunting, Henry rolled over so she was on top of him and tickled her sides.
Giggling, teeth letting his skin go, Katherine was breathless as he asked, “The hell you biting me for little lady?” Blushing as she shrugged a little, the sexy little mouth curved up, the strawberry blonde strands falling in layers like she had a nineties movie shoot to go to.
Appetizing with her goofiness and beauty both colliding, Henry was admiring her as she teased, “Sorry honey.” Only the apology wasn’t genuine as she got what she wanted.
A hard d**k, pressed against her thigh, Katherine gasped as he pressed himself closer to her, “Okay I’m not.” He kissed her because she wanted him to, her little moan telling as her soft tongue rubbed against his. He sat up enough to take off his shirt, but he didn’t expect her to do the same. No bra, her pink n*****s immediately puckered in the cool air of the cabin, she sighed out as his large hands covered them.
Moaning as her head back, his mouth covering her left n****e made her sigh out happily as he fingered her p***y, body trembling as she enjoyed the new sensations. “I want to touch you too.” She admitted breathlessly. Henry nodded in agreement wanting her too as well, he groaned as her hand found it’s way into his sweatpants.
Warm little hand wrapping around his d**k, the softness of it drove him insane as she jerked him off. Hand moving faster as he felt her getting more excited as she touched him, Henry felt her arousal dripping on his hand and smelt her sweet nectar as he nipped at her n*****s, “I’m going to cum.” She whispered with a gasp before crying out and Henry groaned in her chest as she held him close.
Cumming in her hand as she came on his, both were breathless and panting when they kissed.
“Let’s go in your room.” She whispered against his mouth. His bed. That’s where she wanted to be. And Henry started to sit up, pick up his woman and go just there. And keep her there until her legs felt like a vibrator and her mind was too scrambled to remember how to speak correctly.
Only…
He saw David’s face and the guilt slammed into him making him freeze as he breathed out regretfully. Because f**k he wasn’t sure if this is how they should start their story. Something Katherine saw as she sat up and whispered, “What’s wrong?”
He began to explain…
The next morning, Henry was sanding the floors when he was found by Nostradamus and told Elijah wanted to see him. Having left Katherine asleep, it wasn’t long before she was awake.
Pouting as she sat put out at him not only gone, she remembered being denied the previous night with a flicker of embarrassment. And while not exactly a denial, she felt irritated as she sat in the backyard where they had their first dinner. Thinking of Henry’s reasons for pumping the brakes, Katherine rolled with absentminded need before firing up.
Smoking a joint, the out of focused gaze of thought suddenly came into focus when she sensed a presence and she looked up at Camille. “What’s wrong?” Camille came over with a frown on her face and mumbled guilty, “I’m sorry if my relationship with your parents caused more stress.” Katherine started to protest, but Camille sighed, “I have a complicated one with my biological parents and now I’m just lost in that front. Your parents made it easier, gave me a safe place to always land. But I didn’t realize I was keeping you from doing the same thing. I was interjecting myself in a situation and problem I didn’t even know about. A time I wasn’t here for.”
Admitting that had been irritating, Katherine also confessed, “Though I wish you had been here honestly.” Having been alone and lost at the end of her teen years, Katherine was sure if Camille had been there for her then, she’d have loved it. Needed it.
“Life would have been easier if we’d had each other’s backs.” Offering the joint, Katherine watched Camille accept it before sitting down with a little grin, “True.” Sitting together outside behind the cabin at the picnic table, Camille was enjoying the early morning breeze as Katherine offered pastries and coffee.
“So, what brought you by?” Camille met her eye sadly before admitting, “I went to see mom and dad. And they are not doing so great.” Instead, Eloise was sad, and David was guilty. Both their energies low, the magic of their home seemed dead. “I was just trying to see if I apologized and promised to get out of the way you’d come see them at least.”
Breathing out, Katherine whispered, “Dad talked to Henry to ask me to move back in. To hold off on completing the mating until we make things right. He’d asked me before I left the colonies but I told him I’d think about it.” Camille wasn’t surprised as she asked, “Is that something you want?” Katherine didn’t know as she played with her necklace.
“On one hand no. I feel so stressed and anxious thinking of spending time with my parents. But on the other hand, a part of me feels awful that’s how I feel thinking about my parents. I of course want to fix that, and I get what my dad is saying.”
If she continued with Henry they’d get wrapped up in their new lives. Mating, babies, traveling, and being generally busy, Katherine knew her parents would always fall on the back burner as her new life made her happier. Especially if things stayed as they were.
“I don’t want to go through their remaining years not appreciating or enjoying them.”
Camille nodded as she tried not to put her personal opinion and relationship into it, “I know it’s hard to forgive them for what’s happened. It’s been a hard and rough time, but they love you. They only ever wanted what was best for you, even if they didn’t do it perfectly.”
Nodding, Katherine exhaled disappointed, still not wanting to delay her mating another second.
And it was seeing the pouting and frustration, Camille teased, “And by this delay in mating, I’m going to assume that’s no fun sexy time in the warrior’s bed that you care to share?” Laughing a little, Katherine groaned, “Yeah there’s fun sexy time everywhere but in his bed. Which I would love to change.”
Chuckling, Camille nodded, “Get it, I thought carnal lust was a myth. But then I woke up and one day I suddenly knew what it was.” And it was only for one man. Elijah Smoak.
Feeling the same, Katherine grumbled, “I don’t want to wait. But he wanted to give me the option and now-.” Now it was in her lap and the thoughts teetered tottering back and forth in her mind weren’t fair. “I just, I want this new life with Henry. It feels nice and it’s so…easy.”
“And everything is the complete opposite with your parents. I get it,” Camille promised as she gently grinned, “I know that ease and I know any disfunction feels like it’s ruining it. I can’t tell you to invite the pain in and push away the good, goddess and saints knows I haven’t.”
Because it was the goodness that she’d begged for, for so long. Both young women had. And now having it and choosing to turn to the ugly seemed so unfair.
“I just know it couldn’t do any harm working things out before you guys take those next steps.” And as Katherine debated on those said next steps for her, Camille left shortly after saying she needed to get back to her son. Watching her go, Katherine was left alone to stew.
And as she made decisions for her future, Henry made decisions for his.
