Fifteen The next morning I was awakened by the smell of food. Not hospital food, but real breakfast. I love breakfast. I could eat just about anything involving breakfast. I opened my eyes slowly for fear I might be waking from a dream, and the smell would leave me but it was sitting on the small multi-use table in my room. I looked around, and everyone was there. They seemed to be waiting for me to wake up because when I looked around, they all started moving to take their seats. We ate that morning with a sense of urgency as if it might be our last meal. It was enjoyable because we liked each other, but there was always something not said. We spent the next two days pretty much together, talking about ourselves and how we got here.
