CHAPTER NINETEEN Four years ago … I leaned against a tree outside the O’Brian house, my arms folded in front of my chest, my eyes scanning the area around the house for any sign of movement. Every now and then I would see Simon—who was doing a full patrol around the house—appear in my vision, only for him to disappear shortly thereafter by going around a corner to the back of the house. The O’Brian house was fairly big.
