CHAPTER TEN
Wrapping my hands around the bars of the ladder firmly, I hoisted Simon and myself up onto the roof of the warehouse. As soon as we were on it, Simon hopped off my shoulder and walked several steps away from the edge of the roof.
“Why did we have to climb up here?” said Simon as I stood up to my full height and dusted off my shirt. “We could have teleported just as easily.”
“Because I don’t want to waste any Mana unnecessarily,” I said. “If these Children of Raith are as powerful as Luis says they are, then I want us to be at full power, or as close to it as possible. Oh, and keep your voice down. Remember, this is a stealth mission, so we need to be stealthy.”
