Chapter 5 : The return.

Nyx’s POV

Corvin was throwing a party at our house for him and Nik’s 1-year anniversary, they both decided to come out to everyone after being in a hidden gay relationship for so long.

I was happy that my brother found love, in as much as Nik was Corvin's senior but whatever, who cares anyway.

Rebecca and Sol soon started dating too, I guess Rebecca was low-key into my vampire s*x fantasies as well.

I honestly found it disturbing that Kai didn’t do anything to acknowledge his best friend's absence. But I didn’t think too much of it and all of a sudden it got genuinely weird.

Anytime I brought Damien up, Kai would always find a way to switch the topic or at some point, he would not even bother contributing to the topic.

I realized I had to confront Kai about this, one day at the house, I asked Kai a question.

“I have wondered that you never want to speak about Damien, why?”

Kai knew there was no way he could avoid this question.

“Yes I admit it, I dodge conversations that involve him but the truth is that I just don’t want anything to do with him anymore.”

I looked at Malakai in concern.

“That’s odd, even though you guys never got along, he is still your best friend or was. I don’t know but I feel you should at least have a bit of respect for him in you” I said.

Kai thought for a minute, he looked like he had acknowledged what I said.

“Alright, how about we pay his memorial ground a visit every month?” Kai said.

I was shocked that he actually took what I said into pure consideration, I agreed to what Malakai suggested.

….few days later….

Kai and I went to the memorial ground with flowers, and I said a quick prayer for Damien.

I sat on the ground with the mindset that Damien’s ghost was sitting with me, as Kai stood above me towering me.

“Kai, you know you could just sit down right,” I said.

Kai nodded his head in disapproval as he walked away from me.

…A few moments later….

“Nyx, get the hell up, you look so dumb sitting on the floor” Kai said.

I looked at him in shock and got off the floor as I scrolled through my phone, in search of my uber app. I was not going to get in the car with Kai, he acted so weird for no reason. It seemed like jealousy.

“Come on, let's go home,” Kai said as he opened the door of my car seat and gestured for me to get in.

I walked away and into the ride I booked without responding to Malakai.

I got home before Kai and quickly changed into my pjs and layed down, forcing myself to sleep.

I then noticed Kai soon returned home. He took off his clothes and walked into the see-through shower. I tried to close my eyes but I could not help but watch the sexy scene in front of me, he has the body of a demi-god.

Kai dressed up and laid on the bed, I laid facing the opposite side.

Kai moved close to me and wrapped his hands around my body.

“I am so sorry baby, I am sorry for how I sounded today” Kai said as he pulled me closer from the back.

I turned towards him and kissed him.

“It’s fine I promise” I said as I hugged him.

….Few weeks later..

I began to miss Damien more than ever, I visited his memorial more than usual but alone this time.

I felt a tear roll down my face.

I heard my name from a familiar voice but I could not picture who, so I turned around and saw Damien.

I thought I was in a trance.

I ran to him and threw my hands around him.

“Oh my goodness, is this even real? how are you here” I said as I wept in happiness.

“Just shut up and kiss me” Damien said while leaning in.

We kissed and it felt straight out of a movie. I was still confused on how he was present.

I looked at him in confusion, “how are you even here right now?” I asked.

“None of us actually died in the sacrifice, Nyx. I only decided to take some time off for myself" Damien said.

I was shocked and realized that Malakai had lied to me

and used this opportunity to his advantage.

I told Damien what had happened and how Kai lied about him being dead for months. Damien became very angry and also upset that Kai and I had taken our relationship seriously.

…..

Damien confronted Kai, and Kai laughed in his face.

They both began to fight aggressively, and it was a full moon. Kai turned into a werewolf in the middle of the fight and attacked Damien carelessly.

“Please stop! stop fighting, you are hurting me.” I said in fear.

Malakai transformed back, and walked to me and took my hands.

“Baby look, we could run away together and leave all this in the past. It is really what I want” Kai said.

I looked at Kai, my heart really did grow very fond of him.

Before I could utter a word, he leaned in and kissed me and I kissed back.

I pulled away and saw Damien standing behind Kai watching us.

“Damien,” I said.

He walked away without responding and dashed out of the house. I followed him and he stopped at an uncompleted site.

“Damien, I know you are angry but you need to relax.” I said as I looked down on the floor to Damien sitting.

He looked up with teary eyes.

My heart melted almost immediately.

“Hey hey, look at me” I said as I bent down directly in front of him.

“Talk to me”, I said to Damien.

“It’s-it’s just that, after everything, I came back for you and now you are just gonna be with him, why?” He said as he looked at me sobbing.

My heart felt heavy, I felt extremely guilty.

I moved closer to him and hugged him and stroked my hair in his full head of hair.

“It is not new to you that I love you Lucian, matter of fact I am in love with you. But I also love Malakai.” I said.

*Damien sniffles*

“I know Nyx.”
