Daddy 51

Chapter 51 Amber pov I was playing in the garden, chasing the little sunlight patches that danced across the grass, my laughter light and carefree. The wind brushed my hair across my face, and for a moment, everything felt… normal. But then it hit me. A strange warmth, deep in my chest. Like something had whispered my name… only it wasn’t a voice. It was a feeling. A pull. A tug I didn’t understand. I stopped, mid-step, and pressed my small hands against my chest. My heart was racing for no reason I could figure out. What is this…? The warmth grew, like it wanted me to notice it, wanted me to look for it. I stumbled back a few steps, eyes wide, feeling like I wasn’t alone, even though I was the only one outside. “Amber?” My head snapped toward the voice. My father stood at the edge of the garden, arms crossed, eyes sharp but… worried. “Y-yes?” I asked softly. He stepped closer, his gaze never leaving me. My little dragon stirred faintly beneath my skin, but this time it felt… different. Alert. Protective. “Are you feeling that?” he asked, voice low, cautious. “Feeling what?” I whispered. My hands still pressed to my chest, as if I could somehow hold the strange tug in place. “That,” he said, voice a little sharper, gesturing vaguely toward me. “The… connection.” I blinked. “Connection?” He knelt down, bringing his face level with mine. His eyes softened, but the intensity was still there. “Amber… your mate… he exists. And it’s starting to… reach you.” I shook my head, confusion swirling in my young mind. “Mate?” “You’ll understand one day,” he said carefully, placing a gentle hand on my shoulder. “For now… just know you’re feeling something important. Something… powerful.” My dragon twitched under my skin again, rolling in little bursts of heat. It felt right… but scary. “Will it… hurt?” I asked, voice barely above a whisper. No,” he said firmly. “It won’t hurt. Not yet. But it will be strange, maybe confusing. That’s normal.” I nodded slowly, though I didn’t understand half of what he said. But I could feel it,the pull, the warmth, the tugging… like something inside me was waking up. Something that belonged to someone else… but also part of me. Dad studied me for a moment, concern still clear in his eyes. “Amber… you tell me if it gets too much, understood?” I nodded again. “I will daddy.” “Good,” he said, rising to his full height. “We’ll take this slowly. You don’t have to understand it all right now. If it gets too much you let me know, ” I watched him go, still holding my chest, feeling the tug that wouldn’t go away. I didn’t know what it meant… but deep down, I knew it was only the beginning. Something had changed. And I wasn’t the same little girl I had been this morning. Drago POV I was checking the perimeter of the garden when I noticed it. A subtle shift in the air, a twitch in the energy I always felt around my daughter Amber. Her dragon. It wasn’t just playful or restless this time. It was alert… almost searching. Fierce, protective, and curious all at once, I froze. That tug I’d felt earlier with Ripley—Amber was feeling it too. Already. And the bond… It was strong. Too strong for someone her age. I moved closer, careful not to startle her, my eyes scanning every movement. “Amber,” I said softly, watching her small form clutch her chest. She looked up, wide-eyed, and I immediately noticed the way her little dragon stirred beneath her skin, tiny, yet insistent, like it was trying to tell me something. “Are you alright?” I asked, kneeling down to her level. She nodded, but I could feel the tension radiating off her, the pulse of something awakening inside her. “Your dragon…” I murmured. “It’s reacting to… the bond. You’re starting to feel him.” Her brow furrowed. “Him?” I let out a long, low breath, my jaw tightening. “Yes. Your mate. Ripley. It’s… too early for this, but your dragon knows, and so does a part of you. That’s why you feel that pull, that warmth.” Her small hands went to her chest again, instinctively. I could see the confusion in her eyes, the uncertainty… and I could almost feel her dragon trying to protect her from something she didn’t understand yet. I placed a firm, reassuring hand on her shoulder. “It’s alright, honey . You won’t be hurt. Nothing will touch you. I promise. Not while I’m here.” Her eyes went wide at my intensity, and I softened my voice just enough. “But this… this is serious. You have to listen to me. If you feel it growing, if it feels too strong… you come to me. Immediately.” She nodded quickly, swallowing hard, but I could sense the tremor of excitement beneath her fear. Good. That meant the bond was real. That meant it was working. And if anyone, even a single alpha, tried to touch her before she was ready… they would regret it. No one gets her. Not yet. Not ever. I rose, brushing past her gently. My eyes scanned the garden, alert for anything unusual, for any sign of threat. My dragon stirred, low and growling, shadowing mine. Protective. The bond was awake. And now… so was my fury. I won't let my daughter get hurt, not by anyone.
