Chapter 95
Fenrya’s POV
I couldn’t believe she had beaten me. Out of all the humans I had ever been bound to, she was the only one strong enough to do it. She was far more powerful than I had ever imagined.
Why did the Moon Goddess give me such a powerful human?
“Because she already had a dragon—and that’s me. The name’s Nyx.”
“Then I came along. Name’s Winter. And then you showed up, trying to take control. You almost killed our mate—the one standing beside us in every way. And now you’re still trying to ruin what we have with her.” Winter’s voice sharpened. “She’s already been through enough, and you want to hurt her more? And don’t even try using your powers on us, it won’t work.” I was stunned. All three of us… inside her mind. And they were defending the human.
Time really had changed.
“It has changed,” Winter continued, as if reading my thoughts. “You’re not living in the old ages anymore, Fenrya. We don’t take over humans. If a human is bad, we leave—we don’t possess them. We don’t destroy kingdoms unless they deserve it.”
Her voice grew colder. “You almost destroyed her home. Her family. And now there are enemies here trying to take her from them. You know who they are, Fenrya. Demon and Sedale.”
The names hit me like a blade. Memories surged back.
Demon… he had seduced my human centuries ago… then killed her. When she died, so did I.
But I came back. I came back with vengeance, destroying everything in my path—kingdoms, packs, anything I could reach.
Until he captured me. And killed me again.
But when Amber was born… I was sent to her.
I never understood why. I thought I had been given a third chance to destroy. But now… I finally understood.
“I’m sorry,” I said quietly. “I didn’t know why I was sent back… but now I do.”
I steadied myself. “I’m here to destroy Demon… and Sedale.”
There was a pause before I spoke again.
“I need to talk to Amber. I won’t take control, not unless she allows it. I know what I’m here for now. I want to help.”
I closed my eyes, reaching for her.
Amber… if you can hear me, listen closely.
I know why I’m here now. I’m sorry for everything. I thought I was brought back for revenge, but I was wrong.
We can do this together. We are the only ones who can defeat him.
He’s dangerous. You cannot trust him, Amber. Whatever you do… do not listen to him. Please… hear me.
Amber’s POV
Ripley and I were walking toward the throne room. Something was pulling me there. I didn’t know what it was, but I needed to go. It felt like something, someone, was calling me. Then I heard a voice I thought I had buried deep inside my mind. Fenrya.
She was resurfacing. I wasn’t letting her take control again, but… I would listen. Amber… if you can hear me, listen closely…
Her words echoed exactly as before, filled with urgency and something I never expected from her,
Regret. I stopped walking.
Ripley immediately turned to me. “What is it? What’s wrong?”
I told him everything she said.
He listened carefully, then nodded.
“Open your link to only me,” he said. “Let me hear everything between you and her. If I feel her trying to push you back, I’ll pull you out. Alright?”
I nodded. Then I opened the link, just him, Fenrya, and me.
Alright, Fenrya, I said firmly. What are you trying to pull? Is this another trick to take control, or are you telling the truth?
“Amber, I’m telling the truth,” she replied immediately. “I’m not trying to come out unless you want me to. But Demon… he’s dangerous. So is Sedale.”
Her voice dropped. “He’s the one calling you into that throne room. If you open those doors, he will bring you down. He wants me, he wants to control me so he can destroy your father.”
I glanced at Ripley. He was listening to every word.
My eyes shifted to the throne room doors. I took a step forward.
Then another. I could do this. I knew she was telling the truth.
And now… It was up to me. To use her power, and mine, to destroy the demon.
