Chapter 96 Ripley POV I stood there, listening to them talk like they were old friends, like none of this chaos, none of this pain, had ever happened. Fenrya knew now why she had come back. It wasn’t for revenge. It was for something much bigger. To destroy Demon and Sedale… once and for all. A chill ran down my spine as the realization settled in. For a while now, I had been hearing whispers in my ear, soft, persistent, impossible to ignore. I kept brushing them off, telling myself it was just the stress, just everything piling up. But now… I knew better. It wasn’t in my head.It was real. My eyes shifted back to Amber. She was moving toward the throne doors, each step steady, purposeful. There was no hesitation in her anymore. No fear. Just power. Something about her made my breath catch, and that’s when I saw it, her hands. They were glowing. Not just glowing… they were alive with energy.Amber wasn’t just using her own power. She was using Fenrya’s too. The two forces twisted together like they had always belonged that way, like they were never meant to be separate. And that scared the hell out of me. Because if she lost control… No. I shook the thought away. She wouldn’t. She couldn’t. I had to believe that. Still, I needed to say something, to ground her, to remind her she wasn’t alone. So I reached out through the mindlink, connecting to Fenrya… but I made sure Amber could hear me too. “Fenrya, this is Ripley. I’m standing by her. We all are. We’re not letting anything happen to her.” There was a brief pause, like the world itself held its breath. Then Fenrya’s voice came through, strong, unwavering, filled with a confidence that sent a spark of strength through me. “I know you are. And I know we will. This ends tonight.” Her tone hardened, turning sharp as steel. “He’s going to learn he can’t touch us. Not now. Not ever again.” A pulse of energy surged through the link, and I felt Amber react beside me, felt her power rise in response. “This is the last time,” Fenrya continued, her voice echoing like a promise carved in stone. “The last time he ever tries to take anything from us.” Amber stopped just inches from the throne doors. The glow around her hands intensified, spilling light across the walls, flickering like flames. And for a moment… Everything went completely still. Like the world was waiting. Waiting for her next move. Amber POV The doors stood in front of me, tall, ancient, and pulsing with a darkness that felt alive. I could feel them. Feel him behind them. Demon. My hands burned brighter, the glow wrapping around my fingers like flames that refused to die. Fenrya’s power moved with mine now, not fighting me… not resisting. Working with me. Finally, I placed my hand against the cold surface of the throne doors. For a split second, everything went quiet. No whispers. No fear. No doubt. Just power. Then I pushed. At first, nothing happened. Then the doors groaned. A deep, echoing sound ripped through the hall as the magic sealing them began to crack. Darkness pushed back against me, like it didn’t want to let me in… like it knew what I had come to do. I gritted my teeth. “You don’t get to keep hiding,” I whispered. Power surged from my chest, down my arms, and exploded through my hands. The doors flew open. Demon POV The second those doors opened, I felt it. Her. My head snapped toward the entrance, a slow grin spreading across my face as her power flooded the room. “Well…” I muttered, stepping forward from the shadows. “Took you long enough.” But something was wrong. No… Not wrong. Different. Stronger. My eyes narrowed as I really looked at her. “That’s not just you anymore,” I said, my voice low, calculating. Fenrya. She wasn’t just alive. She was merged with her. For the first time in a long time… I felt something close to excitement. Sedale POV I felt it before I saw her. The shift in the air. The pressure. The way the room itself seemed to bend under her presence. I turned slowly, my jaw tightening as she stepped through the doorway. Amber. But not just Amber. Her power hit like a wave, and I took a step back before I could stop myself. Demon didn’t move. Of course he didn’t. He was enjoying this. I wasn’t. “This isn’t what we planned,” I muttered under my breath, my eyes flicking toward him. He didn’t respond. He didn’t need to. Because I could see it in his expression. He liked this. The stronger she was… the more he wanted her. That was the problem. Demon POV “You’ve changed,” I said, my voice echoing through the throne room as I stepped closer. Slow. Careful. Like approaching something dangerous… but worth it. My eyes locked onto hers. “But so have I.” Darkness curled around my fingers, responding to me the way her light responded to her. “Do you really think you came here to destroy me?” I tilted my head slightly, amused. “You don’t even understand what you are yet.” Amber POV I didn’t stop walking. Didn’t hesitate. Didn’t let his words get to me. “I know exactly what I am,” I said, my voice steady… stronger than I’d ever heard it before. Fenrya’s presence flared inside me, her power rising with mine. “I’m the end of you.” The room trembled. Light and darkness collided in the air between us for the first time… I saw something shift in Demon’s expression. Not fear., Not yet. But close. The moment our powers collided, Everything disappeared. The throne room. The others. Even my own body. Gone. Darkness swallowed me whole. But I wasn’t alone. “You really thought it would be that easy?” Demon’s voice echoed around me, everywhere and nowhere at once. I turned slowly, my feet meeting solid ground that hadn’t been there a second ago. A different place. A battlefield of the mind. Shadows stretched endlessly, twisting into shapes that didn’t belong to this world. The air felt thick, heavy, like it was trying to crush me from the inside out. Then I saw him. Standing across from me, untouched, completely in control. “This,” he said, spreading his arms slightly, “is where I win.” I felt it then. The pressure. He wasn’t just attacking my body, He was trying to take my mind. Trying to break me. Trying to own me. For a split second… fear flickered. And he saw it. His grin widened. “There it is,” he whispered. “That’s what I’ve been waiting for.” No. I clenched my fists. Not this time. Not ever again. “You don’t get to be in my head,” I said, my voice low, steady. A pulse of light burst from my chest, pushing the shadows back. Fenrya..Her presence surged forward, no longer just a voice, but a force standing beside me. “You’re not alone,” she said, her tone sharp, powerful. “I never was,” I answered. The darkness hissed, recoiling as our power merged fully. Demon POV Interesting…Very interesting. I tilted my head slightly, watching as her power stabilized instead of collapsing. Most break by now. Most beg. But her? She was adapting. “That connection…” I muttered. “It’s stronger than I thought.” My shadows lashed forward, striking fast, aiming to fracture the bond between her and Fenrya. If I could separate them, I could win. Dark tendrils wrapped around her, digging in, searching for cracks. “Let me help you,” I said, my voice softer now, more dangerous. “You don’t have to carry this. Give it to me.” For a moment…I felt it. A hesitation.,A flicker. Amber POV His shadows wrapped around me, cold and suffocating, pressing into my thoughts, digging through memories, fears, everything I’d tried to bury. Pain shot through me. Images flashed. Doubt. Fear.Everything I wasn’t strong enough to face before. My knees almost gave out. Almost. “Amber,” Fenrya’s voice cut through it like a blade. “Fight him.” I sucked in a breath, shaking. “He’s trying to break you from the inside,” she continued. “Don’t let him define what you are.” My hands clenched. “No…” I whispered. The shadows tightened. “You’re not strong enough,” Demon’s voice echoed. “You never were.” Something inside me snapped. “No!” I shouted. Light exploded out of me, shattering the shadows around my body. “They don’t control me!” I yelled. “You don’t control me!” Fenrya’s power surged with mine, doubling, amplifying, until the darkness started to crack. Ripley POV Everything froze the second their powers collided. Amber and Demon stood locked in place, energy raging around them like a storm, but neither of them moved. “Something’s wrong,” I said, my voice tight. “They’re not fighting… not out here.” I could feel it. They were somewhere else. “Mind battle,” someone muttered behind me. My chest tightened. “No,” I said immediately. “We’re not just standing here.” Energy crackled in the air, growing more unstable by the second. If she lost in there, it was over. “All of you…move!” I snapped. That was all it took. We rushed forward. Sedale POV Idiots. Every single one of them. I stepped forward, my power rising to meet theirs as they charged into the room. “You really think you can interrupt this?” I growled. Energy slammed into mine as they attacked. The room erupted into chaos. Good. If they wanted a fight, I’d give them one. Ripley POV I didn’t stop. Didn’t hesitate. Sedale came at us hard, his power slamming into ours, trying to keep us back. But I wasn’t here for him. “Hold him off!” I shouted. I pushed forward, forcing my way through the chaos, my eyes locked on Amber. She was still frozen. Still trapped. “Amber,” I whispered under my breath. “Come back.” Amber POV Mind Realm The darkness was breaking.,Demon’s control slipping. For the first time, I saw it. A crack in him. “You’re losing,” I said, breathing hard but steady. His expression darkened, the amusement gone. “You’re not supposed to win here,” he snapped. But it was already happening. Light spread across the ground beneath my feet, pushing his shadows back further. Fenrya stepped beside me fully now, no longer just a presence But a force equal to him. “You picked the wrong one,” she said coldly. I stepped forward.,together. This time, he stepped back.
