Chapter 97
Ripley POV
Sedale hit us like a damn storm. Power slammed into my chest, forcing me back a step, but I didn’t fall. I planted my feet, pushing against it, refusing to give him even an inch.
“Is that all you’ve got?” he sneered, his energy lashing out again, sharper this time.
“Not even close,” I shot back.
Behind me, I could feel everyone else spreading out, circling him, forcing him to split his focus. That was the only way we were going to survive this.
“Keep him busy!” I yelled. “Don’t let him breathe!”
Because if he did, we were done.
Sedale POV
Pathetic. They thought numbers would save them.
They thought they could overwhelm me.
I laughed, low and dark, as I struck again. sending a wave of power ripping through them, forcing two of them to the ground.
“You’re stalling,” I said, my eyes flicking toward Amber’s frozen form.
“Hoping she wins for you.”
My grin widened. “She won’t.”
Amber POV
The ground beneath my feet was no longer dark.
Light stretched outward, steady and unbreakable.
Demon stood across from me, but he wasn’t smiling anymore.
Good.
“You feel it now, don’t you?” I said, my voice calm. “This ends with you.”
Fenrya stood beside me, her power fully merged with mine, no separation, no hesitation. One force. One purpose.
Demon’s shadows surged again, more violent this time, desperate.
“You think you’ve won?” he snarled. “You don’t even understand what you’re fighting!”
“I don’t need to,” I answered. I raised my hand. And the light answered.
Ripley POV
Sedale was getting faster. Stronger.
Like the longer we fought, the more power he pulled from somewhere deep and dark.
“Damn it!” I cursed, barely dodging another strike.
We weren’t wearing him down. He was wearing us down.
I glanced toward Amber again, Still frozen. Still fighting somewhere I couldn’t reach.
“Hurry…” I whispered.
Sedale POV
They were weakening.I could see it in every movement, every delayed reaction. This was inevitable. It always was.
“Watch closely,” I called out, my voice cutting through the chaos. “Because when she falls, ” I didn’t finish.,Because something shifted.
Amber POV
His shadows came at me one last time.,Everything he had left.
Rage. Control. Power. All of it. I didn’t move. Didn’t flinch.
“Together,” Fenrya said. “Together,” I repeated.
We stepped forward, And unleashed everything.
Light exploded from us, crashing into his darkness. not pushing it back this time… Destroying it. Piece by piece. His shadows shattered. Cracked. Disintegrated.
“No…” he started.
Too late. “You don’t get to exist in my world anymore,” I said, my voice final.,The light consumed him.
Demon POV
This… wasn’t possible. I could feel it, My power unraveling.
My control slipped through my fingers like sand.
“No!” I roared, trying to pull the darkness back together.
But it wouldn’t listen. She was stronger. They were stronger.
“You’re nothing without fear!” I snapped, desperation creeping in.
But even as I said it, I knew. I had already lost.
Amber POV
“You’re wrong,” I said quietly. “I’m everything without it.”
I closed my hand, And the light collapsed inward. Taking him with it.
Silence followed. Complete. Absolute. He was gone.
Throne Room – Ripley POV
It happened in an instant. The pressure in the room, Vanished.
Completely. Sedale froze mid-attack, his expression shifting from confidence to confusion.
“What…?” he muttered.
Amber gasped behind me. I turned just in time to see her drop to one knee, the glow around her hands fading, but not gone.
Not weak. Controlled. Stronger than before. My chest tightened.
“She did it…”
Sedale POV
No….No…no…no. That wasn’t possible. I felt it. The bond.
The power. Gone. Demon was dead. My head snapped toward Amber, something unfamiliar clawing its way into my chest.
Panic.
“You, ” my voice broke into a snarl. “What did you do?!”
Ripley POV
I stepped in front of her without thinking. “You heard him,” I said, my voice cold.
“She ended him.” Now, it was his turn.
Amber POV
I slowly lifted my head, meeting Sedale’s gaze.
Every part of me burned. but I stood anyway.
Fenrya’s power still moved through me, steady, controlled.
“You’re next,” I said. This time, there was no hesitation.
Ripley POV
The second Amber said “You’re next,”
Sedale lost it. A roar tore from his chest as his power exploded outward, darker and more violent than before. The ground cracked beneath us, the walls trembling like they were about to collapse.
“You think killing him makes you untouchable?!” he snarled.
I stepped forward, energy rising through me.
“No,” I said coldly. “It just means you’re alone now.”
That hit him. I saw it. And that’s when he attacked.
Sedale POV
Rage consumed everything. Demon was gone. Gone. And it was her fault. I threw everything I had at them, power, force, destruction. I didn’t care who I hit anymore. If I couldn’t win,
I’d take them all with me. My eyes locked onto Amber.
She was the source. She was the end. So I went straight for her.
Amber POV
He was fast. Faster than before. But I saw him coming.
I raised my hand, power surging to meet his, And then.
“AMBER!” Ripley’s voice cut through everything. He moved before I could.
Ripley POV
I didn’t think. I didn't hesitate. I just moved.
Sedale’s attack was aimed straight at her heart, and I knew she could stop it… But not without cost. Too much cost.
So I stepped in front of her. The impact hit like a thousand blades.
Pain exploded through my chest as his power tore into me, throwing me back. I hit the ground hard, air ripping from my lungs.
For a second, I couldn’t breathe.
Amber POV
“No!”
The world shattered. I was at his side instantly, dropping to my knees beside him.
“Ripley—no, no, no…” my hands hovered over him, shaking, glowing uncontrollably.
He looked at me, barely conscious, but still… still trying to smile.
“Told you…” he rasped. “We’d keep you safe…” My chest broke.
Sedale POV
Good. Let her feel it. Let her break. That was the only way this ended. I gathered everything I had left, pulling in every ounce of darkness, preparing one final strike.
“If I go down, ” I growled, “you all go with me!”
Amber POV
Something inside me snapped. Not fear. Not pain. Something deeper. Colder. Stronger. I slowly stood, my hands no longer shaking. Fenrya’s presence rose with me, but this time…
It wasn’t just power. It was control. Complete. I turned towar Sedale.
“You’re done.”
Ripley POV
I could barely see. Barely hear. But I felt it. Her power. It wasn’t wild anymore.,It wasn’t unstable. It was… absolute.
Sedale POV
Something was wrong. Very wrong. Her power didn’t feel like before. It felt final.
“No…” I stepped back. “What did you become…?”
Amber POV
“I became what you created.”
I lifted my hand, and everything went still. No explosions. No chaos. Just silence. Then, Light.
Pure, overwhelming light slammed into him, cutting through his darkness like it was nothing. He screamed. But it didn’t last long.
Because there was nothing left of him to hold onto.
Piece by piece, he disappeared. Gone. Silence The room fell quiet.
Too quiet.
I turned back to Ripley. And dropped beside him.
“Stay with me,” I whispered, my hands pressing against his chest, pouring everything I had into him. Light flowed from me,
Too much. I could feel it draining me fast, pulling something deeper with it.
“Amber…” Fenrya’s voice warned. “If you keep going, ”
“I’m not losing him,” I said.
I pushed harder. Twist – Inside the Power Something moved.
Not outside. Inside. Inside me. A flicker. A shadow. Faint. but there.
My breath caught.,“No…” I whispered.
Demon. Not whole. Not alive. But not completely gone.
A fragment. Buried deep within the power I had taken. Waiting.
Fenrya
“You didn’t just destroy him,” she said, tense. “You absorbed part of him.”
Amber POV
I didn’t stop. Couldn’t stop. Ripley’s breathing hitched. Then steadied. Color slowly returned to his face. He was alive. But I knew… Something had changed.,In him. In me. In everything.
Aftermath
Ripley POV
I gasped, air rushing back into my lungs as I came back.
The first thing I saw, Her. “Hey…” I managed weakly.
She laughed, half relief, half tears, and pulled me into her.
“You’re not allowed to do that again,” she said.
I smirked slightly. “Did it work?”
She pulled back just enough to look at me. “Yeah,” she whispered. “We won.”
Amber POV
But as I held him, I felt it again. That darkness. That fragment.
Quiet. Watching. Waiting. I closed my eyes briefly.
This wasn’t over. Not completely. And whatever I had become to win this fight…
